These same governors were against local government autonomy. Shame on them all. They don’t mean well for the masses. Meanwhile, up North, many of their people are on the government's payroll without even doing anything. They only receive free salaries. The North often claims they don’t need the South, yet they are the ones crying bitterly about this tax reform bill. Also, these same Hausa/Fulani individuals dominate our ministries, army, and police despite there being more qualified candidates from North Central and the South. They have the highest slots in our Defence and Police Academies. They control the NNPC, Federal Inland Revenue Service, and the Nigerian Ports Authority. Yet, the South aren't complaining. The South are just slaves to the Hausa/Fulanis as things stand. The South pays the taxes and contributes resources yet remains impoverished, while the North, which brings little or nothing to the table, receives the highest allocation based on population. They often claim they supply food to the south but is the supply free? The tax reform will be passed, Insha’Allah, and heaven won’t fall. The worst-case scenario is that everyone will go their separate ways. Southerners should stand behind Tinubu on this one. He is only trying to correct the injustice in Nigeria. What the core North has done to other Nigerians, they couldn’t endure if the tables were turned. If we want equity, we must all speak the truth: the North is milking Nigeria. This is what Tinubu is trying to change. Having said all this, I think the North has what it takes to do even better than the South. They just need to put on their thinking caps and look inwards. They have the land and the population to be self-sufficient.

Without taking their time to study the Tax Reform proposals some leaders in the North panicked when they heard words like Tax reform, VAT, derivations etc. They feared it would have exposed the Governors as non creative leaders who only wait for Federal allocation without being creative in generating opportunities for their citizens. Tinubu just got a commitment from France to develop over 2000 mining sites. The amount of natural minerals in the North would favour the North. in terms of derivation. A lot of the smart Northern legislatures know this and want these bills to pass. Others in the North are trying to use the opportunity to get back at Tinubu because they feel ignored by him. This includes the likes of Ndume. The bill will pass eventually, and the heavens will not fall. Nigeria will benefit from the Tax Reform.

The Northern Governors who are angry because the percentage for VAT at the point of consumption was increased and it will benefit States that contribute more. My question is : What have they done with the ones they have collected in the past and there is still high level of poverty, hunger, idle people who are begging on the streets of the north instead of working and many bad state/LG roads. I think they should see this bill as a great challenge that will wake them up, roll up their sleeves and start thinking out of the box. There is so much deposit of gold in Zamfara State and other mineral resources in the north that are only explored by Chinese companies, which I am sure the state government cannot claim innocence. Let the federal government take over all the mineral resources just as they took over crude oil in South South. Why would few states in the north hold the entire nation to ransom? After all Kano, Kaduna,Jos, Niger, Bauchi, Sokoto and others who have taken time to develop their state are also going to benefit.

Why saying they should withdraw the bill. Why not debate and negotiate the area of concern in the bill rather than campaigning for wholistic withdrawal of the bill. Withdrawing the bill is tantamount to throwing away the baby with the birth water

Am from jigawa state, sorry to say all the governors are not supposed to be there as governors, we have industries in kano state and other part of the not, they can't even come to together to revive some of this industries and on agriculture the are zeros. The only thing the do is divert allocations meant for people to personal income. Abeg let them go and rethink, 70% of northern are hungry, no light. They are just crazy. Its not about APC it about work work and work 🎉 Kabitap deactivated

The notion that northern Nigeria is lazy must be corrected. I think there should be production and consumption tax in agriculture, but on current derivation, there is no tax on agricultural products. Just imagine if we have tax on tomatoes and the rest, which 200 million Nigerians consume.

When you go to see a big boy in his office and it's the first time you two are meeting one-on-one, he'll be watching your arrival on the screen of his CCTV to know the kind of vehicle you drove in with, or send someone to be monitoring as you arrive. When you come in you'll not know he has scanned you, running overview of the cost of the cloth you are wearing, the wristwatch, the kind of phone you are using and how you smell. He's to receive you in the manner you appear. The above was what gave birth to fake life, 419ing and the quest to make it big at all costs. One could package to look rich and still is not worth up to N1million, home & abroad, while another could come in through a tricycle but has millions in his bank account and investments. However, appearing attractive is good, but not faking reality. It even happens that average earners dress bigger than the wealthy in a big to be seen and received as doing quite well in life. People like Arthur Eze wear anything and nobody cares the cost.

If Nigeria's oil and revenue had been in the North, the North would've used the South's eye to see pepper. The North only cares about the North. Make nobody gree for anybody here😂. But on a serious note, Northern governors have to do their homework on generating IGR. This Abuja sharing thing is not going to help Nigeria in the long run.
