@@zzeroara9511 Because sometimes both isn't an option, not all ideas are compatible here. And even when it is, why both? If a streamer doesn't want to play the game you want them to play then why should they do it anyway just because it's technically possible to do and might potentially still be great content? I'd prefer content creators enjoy doing what they want to do when they want to do it, especially when that still means we're getting quality content out of the deal.

I like my egg playing variety of roguelikes and roguelikes only. But not overplaying them to death. Probably him playing Hades was my favorite time when I watched him. I also very much loved him playing 20 minutes till dawn. I was very hopeful we would get about several or even a dozen hours of Brotato (but no more), but... Anyway, I don't really watch him much because he is playing same shit over and over. Especially because most of those games are relatively mainstream. Always waiting for a phase when that changes, but too bad it's inevitably very short phase. He is still entertaining for me with his jokes and banter (but not pop-culture discussions), but only with that it's not enough to spend so many hours to watch his streams. Hoping to find a streamer that would play the new game Potionomics. I've seen soda played it and he is my go-to for most games (if they don't require too much skill), but I am not sure he would continue. It's a time of game NL would probably play (he is also my alternative pick for a streamer), but who knows...

I think there's one part of this that some people might not get. Full time streaming is fucking exhausting. The balance between actually making money and not burning yourself out because you're not having fun, while simultaneously handling all the tasks of not only running your own business, but also making sure your stream isn't ass is a lot more taxing mentally than you'd imagine. Add the pressure and negativity of random people on the internet, well meaning and trolls and you get a career not many people can maintain long term. There's a reason few people manage to hang on as long as NL has because it can be really rough. That and the fact that in the western world (USA excluded), most people can get a job where they don't have to deal with all that bs and also pays better for less work.

I personally agree that I'd be the type of viewer to check out the new game he's playing and would leave 10 mins in. If he's not 100% into it or if the game isn't a great banter game, I'm out. That isn't the NL content I subbed for. The man knows what's best for him and his channel. If he doesn't want to, let the man be. Annoying someone to do something rarely works. I think there is a mix of many simple reasons for NL to never look back at those days. The basic, surface level was described by the man himself. As for the other layers - clearly the YT content ratracing doesn't sound very compelling for him (while also gambling his daily family life routine on some algorythms and whatnot). Plus, as you can see, our lovely Egg enjoys being +2's and asking "wha' happin" after loosing in the game of jumping beans while chat scrolling up with a speed of light. Perhaps, this IS his element. Although, it might be me, but long interaction with chat made NL a little snarkier than usual.
