Arabs of the Abbasid Caliphate were the ones to be open to knowledge from Greek, Syrian, Iranian, Indian, Chinese sometime between 750 AD and Khwarizmi. Hindu numerals were already known to Syrians around 700 AD. By the 10th century, Islam declined and began to fall under Turkic Mamluks. The Mongol siege of 1258 AD was the final chapter of the Abbasids and of Islamic interest in science/mathematics etc.

The real difference is one simple fact. Which religion both countries were founded on. Israel was created on Judaism, which encourages questioning, critical thinking and positive contributions. The so called partition is a complete myth propogated India. India was always a subcontinet and never a country before 1947. There were many independent kindgoms in this subcontinent that had been fighting and conquering each other for mellenias just like in europe. Punjab was a country and Kashmir was a country. The actual partition happened in Punjab and Bengal. At the end of the British empire, two new large counteries came into existence, the erstwhile kingdoms and states were asked join to form these new counteries. One country called itself Pakistan, the other however conscripted the name of this subcontinent for itself and this is where the confusions lies. Imagine if a large country was created in Asia which then chose to call itself Asia, that would be absurd, but that is exactly what "India" did! Remember the very words India and Hindustan come from Sindh and river Indus, both of which are located in Pakistan. The land of Indus (Pakistan) gave India its name

Glad you half admitted India was never a county before 1947. 1: India was never "a federation of state" There were INDEPENDENT kingdoms that had committed atrocities and conquest against each other for millennias. It's fact that cannot be glossed over. 2: Bharat refers to the western part Gangetic valley. India and Hindustan refers to the subcontinent. The words Indo, Indic, India and Hindustan come from Sindh and river Indus whether you like it or not. Sindhu is even in your national anthem. As I said in my previous comment, India is unable to define it's identity without a direct reference to Sindh while Sindh has no such need. 3: Now about "owning up to history" it's amusing to hear an Indian telling sindhis and punjabis to own up to their history. It's like a child complaining to its father. 90 % of all sindhis are Pakistani citizens 70 % of all Punjabis are Pakistani citizens. They are the descendants of the glorious Indus valley civilization. Either you Indians stops using sindh's identity or admit people of Pakistan (especially sindhis) are your daddy.
