I faced the same thing when I came to the beautiful and most generous country of Pakistan. NOBODY would take money because you are nice to them BUT you have to bear in mind that these people are making 5-20$ a DAY! I started to first ask for the rate and once I bought something, I would politely leave the money in a corner of the shop whilst saying shukriya and RUN! Pakistani people are without a doubt AMAZING. You are not only changing the image of Pakistan for the rest of the world but you are also changing the image of Americans in the eyes of all Pakistanis watching your videos. Please don't think that we don't notice all your subtle acts of kindness you do on the streets of Pakistan (like inviting the guy selling flowers to share your chocolate waffle, then buying flowers from him and leaving a big tip to help him out, encouraging the young kids selling waffles, accepting breakfast invitation by a rickshaw walla, then sitting down on the floor eating it and paying for it instead of letting him pay, buying juice for the kid on the beach and then taking it to him, giving the street barber Rs. 1000 when he asked for Rs 300 only.... and many more.) We have been living in the US for some time and know that most Americans are as kind-hearted as you are. We appreciate your generosity and would love to reciprocate. So here is my invitation to you. Whenever you are in the NY/NJ/Philly area, come stay with us. We live in central Jersey so we are only an hour from either NYC or Philadelphia. Psst.. a tip for touring during Ramadan... Take your food indoors during daylight hours. They won't get upset with you, but the practice of eating out in the open when people are fasting is generally frowned upon. If stuck outdoors, at least be discreet. Additionally, you won't find restaurants open during the day. So keep packaged food or fruits on you.

Yes Chris and Max you should see how we change in Ramadan and go exactly against what we are supposed to do. After fasting, we eat so much oil so much and then we eat dinner too. And then we listen to music because god was so hard on us during the day. So we take refuge in music right after sunset when god is not looking anymore. You should see our hypocrisy.

Pakistanis are very hospitable, towards foreign visitors as well as domestic ones. Consequently guests, tourists and visitors, whether domestic or international, are always welcomed with open arms. Even the poorest labourers go out of their way to help new visitors, in fact.

They are very hospitable to white people to be exact. They are not that much hospitable to West Indies team or people from there.

My experience with them has been quite different. I’m not sure if it is because of my race but from my experience they are very cheap, small hearted and selfish. They also don’t like to pay when they owe and always ask me for discounts when I babysit their kids.

PAKISTANI hospitality is on another level, Good practice would be that you offer to oay and if refused then ask them to give the money to a charitable cause, this way both parties will not feel bad and the money will go to charity.

life is full of challenges for poor no matter where you go, but poor have big heart - and it shows here, they focus on the blessings that they have and not on what they don't have. It is the rich who live in fear of loss - and that is why their hearts are constricted. Pakistanis are wonderful - it is such a tragedy that wonderful Pakistani people have one of the most corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in the world to lead them

I am sharing my personal experience. I went to hunza with family from lahore. I dont know there was ticket for baltit fort. I just went there with my 2 cousins early in the morning for pictures. Our hotel was at least 1 hour far way from fort walking distance.Tour guide of baltit fort came and ask tourits to buy ticketes for internal visit. We had 500 rupees . Ticket was 300 PKR per person. We decided one of us will go and capture and make videos of fort from inside. One local guy heard us and he gave us 1000 PKR and said although you came from lahore but still you are guest in our place. We said this is our hotel address kindly come we will pay you back. He said no its alright. So, pakistani people are kind and have helping nature . They treat every individual with respect regardless of nationality.
