After The E reader series Scarlet and Violet is def my fav era of Pokemon. Only started collecting last year in October so my reintroduction to Pokemon was S and V era. And Paldea Evolved is my favorite set from it. Glad to see you say this

Depending on the size of the reprint is also a topic to discuss. If they do another large wave that could make PE fall more too. Ultimately, however, think its gonna dip more cause people see the reprint and are going down now to sell while still up. As you also said, we have Surging sparks and the eevee set in japanese coming out in the next 3 months. So, people are gonna free up their capital from PE and put into those 2 and maybe even hold for 151 possible reprint. Thanks for the video!

I think hidden fates is a good example of a great set overcoming massive reprints and still gaining lots of value long term. Actually there are tons of examples but Hidden Fates stands out to me

The 3 year hype cycles is absolutely true, you are spot on with that! As for personal options i still prefer SwSh but believe in both generations of cardboard performing very well down the line. SV is flashy, perhaps more so than SwSh, but SwSh has more top end popular pokemon chases, so my moneys still on that horse longterm. It's gonna be interesting to see. Both will do very well. Thats proven.

I think you are arguably right about Scarlett and Violet Era being better but we can’t deny the fact that sword and shield in the end is going to be much more iconic. Especially years from now, when people start getting the nostalgia of everything that was going on during a global pandemic.

There’s paldea evolved at my local card shop in stock right now … the difference with the reprint is that instead of the booster box costing you $140 now it’ll cost you $100 … the magikarp won’t be affected in a PSA 10 unless the print quality improved … By a lot .

I completely agree that the art in SV is better than SWSH, Pokebeard has had the same opinion. The only thing SWSH has over SV, is that there was a lot more to chase and the chase was a lot more fun. Hopefully the last half of SV will be more like SWSH is that aspect. If it does, SV will completely blow SWSH out of the water. Love the video, my dude!❤

S&V is just so fun to open. There are so many pulls to be had. SWSH is great for the high-tier alt arts, but a lot of time if you don’t hit one of the chase alt arts then you probably aren’t getting anything worthwhile out of your packs

@@MimikBrew nah I’ll be honest he has been saying it for a while he has his big investment in paldea evolved hearing his story he definitely into modern and Japanese is not his market either learned a lot from him for sealed but yeah my new missis who I have a little boy with now whoes 6 mounths basically her 10 year old is really into Pokémon and I used to love it back in the day how I wish now I kept my 1 st edition charizard was mint I sold for 125 pound at 10 years old crazy lol stacks of hollows on the playground how we treated them back then but basically yeah couldn’t get 151 in the local shop but could on Amazon at normal prices but basically I was buying n ripping way to much all swsh bit of sv then not sure if was silly but my first set I collected was paldean fates now 1 card of and have 8 cards left for my 151 master set but pulled the grininja from twilight n the big hits from tempal forces and learned not to buy n rip so much maybe buy cards but I was definitely addicted and started sealed collecting have a couple swsh and trying to get a case of every set maybe not every one but the good ones but be honest with fusion strike still at 142 it’s hard might just get a bit of fusion strike so much hype on surging n team rocket never had this before with other sets don’t want to fall into hype as with the alt arts

Ct scans will destroy sealed market as with much larger print runs of modern sets and all time highs of cards being graded, i think that makes it a hard sell to “take a chance” opening second hand sealed products

If kids aren't ripping 151 packs or whatever because all the adults are hoarding, I mean investing, that means your future buyer's won't have the same nostalgia/demand as we did. I may be wrong but I think a lot of this modern product will not be sought after in a few years or cycles, except among us, which for the most part we already have/got enough of, on top of less of us will not make the same mistakes as we did when we were kids. Gonna be like them 80s and 90s baseball cards that nobody wants today. I'm just saying the IP is strong but that doesn't mean much for value if it's not rare or the next generations aren't interested in the past. Your market increase is very dependent if there's another stimulus boom, which is not a good thing for overall market stability. Or if republicans ruin this country further and set us back a 100 years with taking away social security benefits and other safety nets. In 20 years, after the mass boomers deletion, when we can finally afford homes. That disposable income for cardboard ain't gonna be all that appealing. Short term gains in 3 years is reasonable, but I would gamble on something with bigger margins.

This argument is self contradicting. The argument that swsh has s-tier alt arts but it's hard to pull therefore people will prefer SV is a bad argument. It's because of this that they will hold value. So your argument is that illustration rares are easy to pull so people will prefer these...then how about they open an trainer gallery set from the swsh era and get easy pulls there instead? How can you look at a moonbreon, giratina v alt art and all those amazing alt arts and think that any SIR from SV is remotely comparable?
