I agree with the fact that within an existing marriage, sexual liberty does not encompass pining for another man. That part is wrong. In modern terms that's what you understand by emotional cheating. But, the fact that being Ace was seen as a huge deal bombards me over. In this world, if you even slip it in conversation that you don't like physical love, not interested or on the similar lines, you are bound to get a lot of unsolicited advice as to why you are supposed to like it, as a woman. Like, being celibate after 5 kids is not a super power, maybe she was fed up with the whole concept of physical love. And the moment she laid eyes on someone, feeling her desires, it was deemed necessary to hack her down. That remains the same. No physical autonomy. A woman has to be unalived (in this case by the hands of her own child) if she's found cheating, a man, back then would just marry the second lady if found in a similar situation back then. Now, he has to be "forgiven" & "given another chance for his error in judgement". 😅 Double standards much?

100 percent agree but i dont think anyone or any scripture is saying Parshurams father was correct here…its just a story of Parahurams obedience and quick thinking but does not condone violence imho

He killed them remorselessly with no love in his eyes, yet the only thing he chose to wish for was to bring them back to life??? Was it only to clear his karma, while his only real goal was pleasing his father, or did he actually love them after all???

Pardon my doubts, but I have never heard this version of Renuha's "sin." I have sought and found many versions of the tales and exploits of all the Dashavatara, and Renukha was always said to have been tricked by Chitraratha, who assumed her husband's form and is sometimes said to have had to command her to have sex with him, despite appearing to be her husband; it was noon or early afternoon and they had never engaged in sex at that time during their marriage. Parasurama did kill his Mother, hiding his revulsion from being shown on his face, and indeed asking for her to be resurrected, which was granted.

This is the issue I have with these stories. There are many different versions and no one seems to truly know what the real version or the point of the story, as clearly seen here in this comment section.

Oy vey .teaching myths. Who needs Christian celibacy and guilt when we have Hindu stories like this.

it is weird that a religion which celebrates sexual liberty would come up with stories like these. but that's what they are after all, mere stories 🤷🏽♂

Sexual liberty is not for married people by definition. I'm shocked that some people doesn't have the IQ to understand this simple concept. 🤷♂

@@karthikpuvvula marriage is not a natural thing... It's man made agreement.. Natural living beings have sex with multiple animals, not just one .. Also men have sex with any number of women being in multiple marriages and concubine and that's totally fine.. But if woman even desires then it's a sin punishable by death? Whose IQ is crap?
