I spent years in divorce court over custody. I was scared my ex-wife was going to try and hire someone to kill me, as her mom had been arrested for doing that to my ex's dad. I started setting little things that would let me know when someone was coming into my house when I wasn't there. They kept getting set off. So I bought cameras and made sure my ex knew they were there. I remember being cognizent of anyone who I didn't know who was in my area for more than a couple minutes. And never pulling over, even when my car was having issues. The paranoia gets to you. But stories like this woman keep me paranoid. I'll probably stay paranoid until my kids are grown up and she would no longer benefit from my death.

Bridgerton is a massive win for the bigger girlies. Growing up I never saw my larger body depicted as something desirable, which often translated in how men treated me - something to be lusted after privately while publicly distancing themselves, ensuring that all men knew their stance on my kind of body was ‘gross’ and could ‘never be sexy’. Having such a large cultural moment, showing us in a truly favourable light - it’s just beautiful to see.

I appreciate that the captions aren't the auto captions only 6 hours after posting, but there a lot of missing words and mistakes, pretty much as many as I am used to seeing in the auto captions. Just wanted to note that, since the captions need to be of high quality for those who rely on them alone.
@lydia3460

Replying to boost this comment. While I don’t rely on captions alone, I do use them to follow along with the video and the fairly frequent mistakes do make it harder for me to keep up with what’s being said. On top of that, I sometimes like to share these videos with friends who are hard of hearing or don’t speak English as a first language which means accurate captions are often more of a necessity for them than they are for me. I would really appreciate more accurate captions both for my own use, and also so that I can share these videos with my friends knowing that they’ll be able to fully access the content

7:43 This tweet rubs me the wrong way for so many reasons, but I'll just focus on the main claim, that the playable characters are always locals. Here's a more accurate list targeting specifically the games I think he's referencing: Rome - Florentine Assassin (this was well before the unification) London - two English Assassins born outside of London (same country, but outsiders to the city at first) Paris - French Assassin I guess technically, but his dad was British and his mom was Austrian, and his name is very British Egypt - Egyptian Assassin Greece - Spartan Assassin who spends quite a bit of time outside of Lakonia (but yes, Greek) England again - Norwegian Assassin (I don't think there's been an AC game in Saxony, or anywhere in Germany for that matter, so I'm assuming by "Viking" they mean AC:Valhalla) Anyway he forgot the Florentine Assassin in Constantinople, the Welsh Assassin in the Caribbean, and the British Templar on the East Coast of North America. Assassin's Creed is no stranger to featuring playable characters who aren't local to the game's location. The most worrying part about choosing Yasuke as the main character is I'm pretty sure the playable characters have all been fully fictional so far, even when they're close friends with real people. But there's so little known of Yasuke's life history that I don't think it matters that much. Plus, he was close to Oda Nobunaga in the last few years of Nobunaga's life, which is prime real estate for an Assassin's Creed character

For those who don't know, crimes like that on the reservation in South Dakota are prosecuted by the state of South Dakota, and they tried randomly pushing gang relation on the crime based on blue handkerchiefs on the handle of a bat and the grip of a gun. No other evidence, just threw it out there. The whole jury found it really odd and snakey of the state prosecutors to try to bring up gang violence randomly when there was no other mention of it.

Closed captions that repeatedly and routinely misspell names, end sentences prematurely, and mistake words with homonyms. I’d take CCs posted a few hours late that are correct over instant, auto-generated CCs that can’t even spell a person’s name. This is a news show: the captions should be right. Drone warfare is terrifying. If they figure out mass-produced A.I-driven drones that target soldiers, the counter would be for soldiers to not dress like soldiers. If they decide to appear as civilians to throw off being targets and the A.I. learns to target them anyway, I greatly fear for the cost humanity would incur.

As a woman who doesn’t always see herself as beautiful, like her body at times, or feel good enough; seeing someone who is plus size say I am who I am, I love who I am and everyone else can go fuck themselves; I am over joyed. This makes me happy. This gives me hope that I will get to the point where I will be able to say those things about myself. She has been a huge, beneficial influence on my self image and mental health. You are beautiful, I am beautiful, we are ALL beautiful.

When people critique other peoples bodies, they are basically telling on themselves, body image is really important to them and it can even be pure insecurity. They care about how things look, not how they work or what they contribute, doesnt get much more vain and frivolous than that. Pretty trash is still trash. Many even attach mental state into figures, like only slim people can be happy or content, ultra stupid. The more youre hung up on superficial things, the less youre interested on what really matters, imo. And when the outer things are everything, the less chance there is to be actually happy, there is always more to buy, new surgery to go thru, another diet to try. Happiness can come only from the inside, by being a good person and doing good things. This husk of ours isnt that important (excl. health, ofc) and age comes to all of us. Let’s love what we have, thats the intelligent thing to do and it feels pretty awesome! And as an artist I’ll say this: perfection is boring AF. Seriously. Youll get there, Lena, Im sure of it :)
