We don't have a confirmation both cradle ops died at the end. The canister exploded, however they both should have a level of immunity from it if not it making them stronger. We haven't fully uncovered the mole. We don't know how involved adler was with cradle. What is the status of Mason? Was it really Reznov that saved woods and Mason in Afghanistan after we were told he died? Is Adlers brainwashing truly undone? Despite livingston giving a green light to Marshall's team, it is imperative the rest of the CIA doesn't know so you're potentially still fighting Americans

I think the problem is that you have two studios who have their own vision of Call of Duty; Infinity Ward: Modern/ grounded warfare. Treyarch: Black Ops espionage/mind thriller (for those who don't get it, a lot of emphasis on their campaigns is focused on how people are being brainwashed or human psychology) not counting WaW Activision forcing the two studios to merge their series into one universe was a bad idea because you have two different studio visions conflicting with one another. Hence, why people are saying this mission it feels out of place for a Call of Duty.

During emergence the mannequins were actual mannequins. the zombies were Pantheon soldiers that’s why they keep jumping in between being zombies and pantheon for a brief second, Cradle was causing Case to see them as zombies the bosses are the only part I can’t explain what they were supposed to be outside of the trip. The entire mission is showing why everyone who was affected by cradle eventually started to act violent and psychotic, and to tell the player that case was the first person it was tested on and how it affected him.

Zombies being there completely makes sense. The cradle makes you agressive by you hallucinating, one of the things you hallucinate are zombies but you also see other people as zombies (or other threats i assume) so thats why you get agressive towards them. Case’s mask broke and he inhaled the cradle so you hallucinated. And this wasn’t treyarch’s way of merging the campaign and zombies storyline since in zombies the zombies dont come from the cradle but they are real things. So it’s not because of cheaping out and being lazy in terms of story. But yes the bosses being reused is because of being lazy

And finally, someone who doesn’t think the story was lazy! Yes we’ve seen similar things in CoD as far as brain washing and mission progression goes, but super soldiers, fighting bad guys, hallucinating them as zombies; all thanks to a bio weapon, created by pretty much a shadow org… That’s new to CoD, and I feel like they did that well! New zombie bosses, or different bosses all together would’ve been cooler, and less lazy production wise; but Emergence, is certainly not where the narrative fell flat.

The only time we saw zombies in a campaign was in a cold war easter egg that was playable for like 3 minutes until you died and couldn't do it in that missions playthrough again. And also in the BO6 mission its not just like zombies start appearing out of nowhere being insanely unrealistic. Instead its you start breathing in gas causing yourself to hallucinate. At the part at the door when they first start spawning I had no idea zombies were gonna show up behind me and i was TERRIFIED lol. It was a pretty creepy and a bit of a challenging mission but it was fun and unique. I've never been so scared in a call of duty campaign mission lol

Another reason this dream/hallucination sequence doesn’t make sense is because in black ops one when Mason saw a rocket launch out of the building he was captured and interrogated by Hudson. It’s not because he was hallucinating, but because previously in the campaign in an earlier mission, we had literally played as Mason as we shot a rocket out of the sky, so it’s not like he’s hallucinating a rocket launch for no reason it’s literally buried in his memory and that’s why he’s seeing it when did Case experience zombies?

And of course these were not moving but Case just thought so. there were also pantheon soldiers as we sat the flashes that we saw like zombies turn soldiers (this can be explained with the last boss fight. we perceived zombies as Sev and Marshall and in fact, both were there). I liked the mission. But how I see it is 2 different things could be happening: 1 when exploring the facilities and breathing in the cradle gas it's causing case to hallucinate the zombies in the abandoned place thinking your being attacked by them. 2 the cradel gas is making Case remember what happened before when he was at the facility and got tested on with the cradel. So Case imagined all the real people back then as zombies attacking him so he went on a killing spree in the moment. And the gas is making him see them again, That's why he couldnt distinguish the real people and the zombies when they change suddenly. Maybe thats why he was the last to be tested. But IDK

If I didn't click "zombies" on the main menu, then why in the holy fuck am I playing a Zombies mission in my campaign? Black Ops 3 did this too, but at least they had the respect to keep it very brief. This mission and the Separation sections in the finale were such ridiculous missteps in an otherwise fantastic campaign.

100% the mannequins were a highlight of the campaign but the zombie fights in-between were a let down. Coming from someone who didn't recognise the re-used zombie assets because I don't play zombies all that much.

I get why it's there. I appreciate the innovation. But I only have two reasons why I don't like it: 1. I'm just not into anything horror-related stuff. 2. I always play in Veteran difficulty, so this mission was ROUGH, haha. Took me a very long time.
@generalmcterror2718Ай бұрын
Surprisingly I didn’t have too many hang ups when I went through on Veteran. Though my cheeks were definitely clenched on the close calls. Especially with the final boss. Though I had my fair share of deaths. One of them was because I didn’t know I had to do anything when the abomination charges Case. So I died laughing when it popped the death screen. My favorite of the bosses was the mimic. Simply because 115 was playing in the background and I felt like I was back in Kino Der Toten.

I really love the mission, but I think why everybody hates it is because there’s always a storm of zombies coming at you and a boss every single two minutes that’s why I hate it too, but in total, I really like the design and where the devs are trying to go with this mission. I really love this mission but if they just don’t make us fight 25 bosses 25 swarms of zombies all at the same exact time this would be the best mission in the game

Having to turn my back to the weeping angel mannequins was TERRIFYING, and then all of that suspense and terror was thrown out the window when the superman-esc boss fight with a reused zombies boss kicked in and it all faded away. Your idea for the mission sounds great, but I also would've liked a cookie cutter mission of descending through the entire complex with Marshall instead of falling down the elevator shaft, I wanted to see more Marshall/Case interactions and I felt robbed of that with a lackluster mission.

People say this has been in campaign since the beginning. When in bo1 did you fight zombies in campaign. I hate this stuff, brings the game to a halt unlike how in CW it was just a quick Easter egg. Also we haven’t even figured out who the mole from Panama is yet. I’m sorry but it’s not Jane harrow someone we only learn about this game.

From my perspective the zombies represented things going wrong, in every zombies map there was somewhere a experiment gone wrong or a research project on something gone wrong which causes an outbreak. In Emergence i feel like the zombies represent basically the project being given up and stuff going wrong just how Case was a case gone wrong sort of

What if Cradle is the reason we got "zombies" in the first place? It would be a stretch of the "it was just a dream" setup, but a simple way to link the two modes.
@ivanmartinez743Ай бұрын
Yup, probably a seed to unite the mode in the future, the Cradle being the first prototype for zombie like humans and it's enhanced by someone founding the research somehow and turning into something even worse
@agentlinrov1474Ай бұрын
Except in Cold War, it was already established before the 80s and Omega Group would have to be part of the Cradle Program when it was only Case.

Another problem, that I only learned of a few days ago, is the Zombies lore. Before BOCW, the campaigns and zombies modes were in their own seperate worlds. At the end of BO4 the zombies world is reset, making the zombies in BOCW part of the lore of Black Ops, which explains how characters like Gregori Weaver and Lev Kravchenko are there. Adding zombies directly into a campaign after BO4 could imply that this mission is in the Zombies lore (which it is not). It would have made sense if it was revealed in the mission that 115 was part of the cradle and gave it the bioweapon properties and would explain why it was initially designed for a super soldier programme.

I love this mission! I’m an old school 90’s gamer, and a tough critic. Chasing the mannequin crash test dummy around the office, and trying to grapple him kinda pissed me off on the Veteran difficulty. 🤣
@Wren-t6c3 күн бұрын
Maybe the zombies in emergence represent the employees in the facility that case was fighting when he sabotaged the facility (there's no way right now to know if he did it stealthily). Some of the dialogue in the mannequin boss fight suggests that case thought they (the employees) were complicate, suggesting they were like zombies? It's totally a reach, but that's how I see this mission.
@zaqh7075Ай бұрын
This isn’t the first time they combined zombies with the campaign. In black ops 1 when you beat the campaign, it throughs you straight into the White House zombies. If you hadn’t played zombies yet, you would think that you were still in the campaign.

I’ve been out of COD except for playing Cold War earlier this year then playing BLOPS6 mostly this week. The games have come a long way and showing this one to someone in 2006 playing COD 3 would blow their mind either for the good or the bad. The mannequins almost developed a new phobia for me but I’m still glad I played the game nonetheless. It’s definitely one of the best Black Ops campaigns and maybe one of the best video game stories of all time.

@notlaxr8364Ай бұрын
IT IS REALISTIC in fact even though it doesn’t “fit” it’s actual lore accurate because campaign and zombies are mixed now since tag der toten which created the dark aether. They’re all in one universe. Originally the campaign we played in was in the first universe and the zombies played in the other universes

I was not expecting the mossion to go that way, and because of that, I really enjoyed it. Throwing a mix of horror and mystery into the story was a great move, and I think that was done intentionally to make the game a bit more exciting, a great mission, and damn those mannequins freaked me out.

I love that one of the problems with this mission is "keep zombies out of the campaign" while last year with MWZ it was "keep human enemies outside of Zombies" XD Like honestly is it really that huge of a problem for different enemies from two different modes to alternate between each other??
@XenoVerroxxАй бұрын
Maybe the "Zombies" in this mission, is a hidden meaning of Treyarch that says, the Cradle have somekind of zombies virus inside of it (Maybe 115, or synthetic of it, IDK). That's why on the tape at The Rook, they act like zombies. Also, about keycard. I have found something. This in order of the card access on the table. Red: Mangler = How "Case" is experimented. Comatose inside a water bubble glass (Don't know what it's called). Yellow: Abomination = Make people who got Cradle have such a brute strength. Green: Another Mangler = Maybe in here, the point of this is not the Mangler, but about the orange manequinn. Cause remember, it's all a hallucination, and the mannequinn and the grappling hook is not real. Case, is basically just running around. So maybe in here, it show the speed of people who got Cradle. Blue: Mimic = Make people who got Cradle have a great intellect in spying or disguising. For the final boss, IDK what it mean. Then why Harrow, it's pure her acting like zombies? Maybe because the Cradle inside her, got mix with "Separation Serum" from Adler
@Amphroxia27 күн бұрын
as a cod zombies fan, i love to see how they try to incorporate the zombies into the cannon story of black ops, even if it's all a hallucination. they could never fully make it cannon unfortunately, as cod zombies has a lot more unrealistic stuff like time travel, multi-verse and monsters that would never fit into the realistic nature of call of duty, unless they make it cannon that all of cod zombies storylines are hallucinations, which the community will, without a doubt, reject and hate. i loved the campaign mission though, very creepy.

They made a REALLY good horror game level, and it shocked and scared players that hate horror games (myself included) because they shoved it into a shooter with no warning. The fact that there's outrage means that they did a good job really, but I really don't think that it should be in the main campaign. Maybe as the very final mission so you can choose to skip it.
