It matters in every aspect in Hong Kong , people cried if you failed a class , we feel like we disappointed our parents , a quarter and a half of my class have depression because of bad grades

I have a 3.25 but taking 3 AP’s and 2 Cambridge classes this year so hopefully I can raise my gpa to a 3.5.

While, I agree with the rest of the video it highlights some very interesting points I just wanted to note: 0:55-1:24, something being discounted is that a lot of people who have a perfect gpa also have other extracurriculars, internships, etc but still put in the work to study day after day. And while a task might seem robotic, multiple jobs (such as engineering, technician, doctor , or even labor jobs) involve a lot of pure grinding in tasks that may seem boring but are important. sports practices sometimes involve drills that might seem repetitive or grinding but they are important in developing your overall character and results. Also multiple classes such as (Physics C, Calculus BC) require actual understanding and creative uses of techniques to solve problems not just repetivtive drilling. cheers mate
