Do you remember Italia 90??. We were dogsh*t against the Republic Of Ireland, Holland we got through by a scrappy 1-0 win over Egypt. Then Platt's late winner against Belguim, Lineker's brace against a great Cameroon side and then Germany in the SF. Gazza's years & the heartbreak of penalties. England will play far better against teams who attack is where we can use our ability to counter-attack. How many times have Italy been awful in tournaments but manage to dig in and get to a Final. It's not just for England, many Premier League teams really struggle to break down well-drilled teams who play a low block with a 5-4-1 formation

Foden through the middle was the most effective our offense has looked in these three struggling games. The guy could be our leading scorer and he needs to be let loose. Slovenia game showed that Gareth is allowing him to do his thing, at one point he was on the right wing for a short while; i'm optimistic

Probably the best thing that could happen. Now Bellingham and Foden don't have to play on top of each other and Southgate will be forced to play Palmer or Gordon. No doubt this will balance the team better and give Southgate the slap in the face he so very much needs.
