Sir rest mass means mass at zero velocity, so how come did you put v=c as the particle will no longer be at rest??
@taimoor69 Жыл бұрын
Because Photons can never ever be at rest position and that's the overall conclusion of this video

Photons always in motion with speed of light

Then why do we consider the rest mass term.Why it is so important to discuss, as when photons are always in motion.

Why is the velocity not kept ZERO But c ???
@easyedu1 Жыл бұрын
1. c is not kept zero we just replaced the v=c mean the particle is traveling with speed of liqt so its velocity v is equal to velocity of liqt. 2. if we keep the v=0 and not v=c the we will get underoot 1 and underoot 1 is equal to 1 so we will get m=m_0

I sure am glad I never had to glean anything from a lecture given by a man with this accent. I'm not trolling - it's just the truth.

If the rest mass is zero than its relavistic mass should be zero....... But photons have relavistic mass.
@easyedu13 жыл бұрын
that mass is derived from debroglie hypothesis and from momentum. wavelength = h/p, photos are massless at rest but have momentum when in motion and they are always in motion

It’s not really the explanation for the reason that photons have zero mass… you’ve actually divided the expression by zero so you can’t just multiply it by zero… there is another explanation that it’s more physical…
@easyedu12 жыл бұрын
that's the explanation from relativity Einstein model using quantum mechanics you will be able to get mass using momentum term , it do have energy and momentum and momentum is we know mass time velocity, but that is a quantum explanation
