That would mean Nail was 42,000 and Piccolo was 58,000 after King Kai and 10x gravity. Much more reasonable.

Maybe due to the fact that Nail had his potential unleashed by Super Kami Guru that that added to the fusion multiplier was why piccolo gained powers over 1 million. Assuming nail was already stronger than the other namekians before the potential unleashed he would probably have like 5k ish so thatd be an 8x boost. Scans showed the fusion was a 5x amp. Thats 40x and lets just say for simplicities sake piccolo got 1.2mil. Piccolo would have only needed 30k to meet those requirements when he showed up.

By the time they arrived there, in fact, by the time they fought Nappa and Vegeta, all of them were stronger than Goku was when he first arrived there. Goku's power level was around 400 at rest when he fought Raditz. Yamcha, Tien, and Piccolo were all over Raditiz's power level of 1200.

Did you even watch GT? Piccolo wasn’t sent to hell in GT because of his evil deeds in life he was sent to be a guardian of hell and to save Goku. King Yemma himself even said that he couldn’t send piccolo to hell die to him not being evil. Piccolo initially went to save Goku after he was sent to hell during the Super 17 arc but stayed to be a guardian. He didn’t want another situation like Dr. Gero and Dr. Myu making another 17 to happen again.

But the show tries to imply that vegeta may be stronger than goku now. Goku's full power would have been somewhat stronger than Vegeta as goku was training nonstop during that time too, as well as gohan. Vegeta may have closed the difference due to training under 300x gravity (which is my favourite episode btw) but I think goku may have been almost on par with Android 18's level. If goku didn't get the virus, perhaps 16 would have killed him if 16, 17 and 18 were still released.

I think Piccolo got a moderate boost from the training, but that he got something more: the secret of the Kaio-ken. Not the technique itself, but enough of the idea to amplify his power for brief periods when needed. I believe we see this later on when he faces Dr. Gero. So this may have been a Piccolo with a power level around 10,000 who expected to be able to amplify that by twenty for brief moments up to around 200,000. And he would have the ridiculous power of the Special Beam Cannon on top of that. Which, when used alongside Goku, probably would have been pretty effective against first form Frieza, which was all they knew about at that time. Now, going from the 3,500 he had against Nappa to 10,000 might seem like a stretch, but keep in mind two things: this was a young Piccolo who was still growing into his full adult power, and he had just seen the ki techniques and abilities of the Saiyans. Plus, of course, whatever he was able to learn from King Kai, who would have been able to give him much more advanced training and techniques than he gave Goku (due to him having much more ki control as the Nameless Namekian and the reincarnation of King Piccolo). And maybe he was able to learn some of that Crane magic from Tien and Chiaotzu during the training.

Piccolo before Nail was most certainly at least around Frieza's first form, but as Frieza begins to tap into more of his first forms power when battling against the others, that's when Piccolo realizes it might be better to make sure that he can close any additional power gap and increase in his favor. Thus he fuses with Nail. Piccolo's raw power increase potential is insanely high as he's capable of gaining a lot of power in a short amount of time. He is a prodigy within his own race. Legend goes that if he hadn't separated from Kami, as Nail pointed out so delicately, he could have taken out Frieza in his later forms because as a super namekian he only gets rivaled by the super saiyan.

Great call, he had never done any training other than with himself but started with a good power. Just living in 10× Gravity would have made Goku 1200 from 10, Piccolo would have had a massive. When Piccolo's trained with Goku he became much stronger than in base as did Gohan. That's also why when Goku went to the chamber he first needed Gohan to go super saiyan.

I had always assume that when Piccolo was training under King Kai that he learned the same technique that Goku had learned which of course is the Kaioken and its multipliers. But I do recall in the Dragon Ball Game Budokai Tenkaichi 2 that if you play as Piccolo and before you go to battle Frieza and you talked to Elder Guru he awakens your hidden potential and at the same time he reveals your true identity. Which if I'm be honest that was a missed opportunity to at least have the eldest Namek talk to Piccolo and maybe they could have also fused just like how he did with nail.

Honestly, I feel like Piccolo's biggest strength mirrors gohan's: insane potential. Any time he falls behind, he just trains harder until he catches up, and if he can't, he manages to find some missing piece to himself to catch up that way instead. (His namekian heritage through nail, his old strength as the nameless namekian with kami, and eventually finding a way to match Goku and Vegeta's god tier forms not by training with deities like them, but instead getting his power as a gift from the low tier deity his kami half created.)

I think Piccolo was somewhere between 48, and 60,000. And I think him and Nail was the first fusion in Dragonball history, and fusions are known for giving the ones who fused an incredible power increase. I think that when Piccolo and Nail fused, they were given about an 8-10 thousand power level increase for the fusion in general, then an extra 10x in power level for the fusion, which would bring Piccolo to about a 1,100,000 power level. Which would make sense, because Freiza had to transform on him, and proudly boasted his power level was over 1,000,000 in the form Piccolo faced.

You are right. I think, Piccolos Power Level on Namek was between 35.000 and 70.000. After the Fusion it was between 120.000 and 240.000. So when he uses the 5* or 10*Kaioken like Goku did, he is about 1.200.000, so he can fight freezer.

In the beginning power levels were like a one to one. You train and your power goes up by one one tick at a time, but at some point it's like their power started going up in exponentials. You train and your power goes up ten ticks at a time or more. Maybe it's gravity training? Maybe it's a function of extremely high power levels? A combo of both? Better/more effective training? Story hacks? I guess it's up for discussion and debate.

My idea is that Piccolo was -at the time- way ahead of Goku in short training. Goku became a master of training when he tought himself to go beyond his limits (+ the advantage of becoming way stronger in near deatu situations) which is the reason he no longer fought with Roshi's logo. Then he became a master when he trained Gohan in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and bared no logo. Piccolo had trained Gohan before, thus making him a master already. No wonder Gohan chose to fight Cell with his uniform and not Goku's

Krillin, Bulma, and Gohan were gone for a short bit before Goku left, and they were on Namek before he left Earth, right? That alone extends your timeline.

Piccolo is dead for like a little over month. He spends 6 or 7 days on King Kai’s planet because King Kai tells Goku that his friends arrived on King Kai’s planet on the same day that Goku leaves in the ship to Namek, and that ship takes 6 days to get to Namek

Personally I think Piccolo at this point was barely even stronger than Nappa. He just wanted to help any way he could, he's not a sidelines kind of guy. It's the same reason Tenshinhan showed up to fight Super Boo despite him being able to blink Tenshinhan out of existence, it's just not in their nature to back down. Piccolo also does have the Mafuba if things get sticky too, so he could have been thinking about using that.

What if he planned to use the Mafuba on Freeza while Gohan and Kuririn distract him? Or maybe he planned for Kuririn to put Freeza in a full Nelson, and do the same as he did to Raditz and Kakarrot. Either way he had a plan, and let's not forget that as a Namekian his body would have been able to endure at least X10 Kaioken. I know people say the Earthlings can't use Kaioken but we have no proof that they didn't learn it. I think they do know how to use it, Piccoro even admitted to amplify his KI against #20 (ring the bell?). He possibly used it against #17 as well.

My head cannon always had Piccolo weaker than Nail when they fused.. Nail was the strongest Namekian and he specifically notes how strong Piccolo is, assume this is compared to all the other Namekians but it would seem unlikely that only 6 days could take him from 3500 (average warrior type) to greater than 42000 stronger than their #1 fighter. I put pre fusion Piccolo at around 35,000 so his power goes up 10x which is still a huge boost to achieve in 6 days. If you then apply the Fusion multipllier: (A + B) x 10 = 35000 + 42000 =77000 77000 x 10 = 770,000. Not exactly on par with 2nd form Frieza but close enough that we get the fight shown where Piccolo can content with Frieza but not enough to overcome. Additionally this is Piccolos first fusion so he probably gained more from that the typical fusion.. he gained Nails knowledge of Namekian abilities which probably pushed the fusion further so he gets up to around 1.2m in his fight with Frieza.. enough to knock him down but not out.

Piccolo went from 3.500 to 280.000 as Namekian Fusion gives you a x5 permanent boost to your power. After the 3.500,the next data we have about Piccolo's Power is when he removes his heavy cloths to fight Frieza. His full power at that point was 1.400.000 and if we divide by 5,we can assume that before fusing with Nail,he had 280.000...yeah,without Nail,Piccolo would've die again. Piccolo before fusing with just Nail wasn't different personality wise from Goku or Vegeta,it's only after this fusion that he wise up and became less Blood Knight.

Namekian fusion gives a ridiculous boost in power. Look at when he fuses with kami, kamis power level is tiny, but his power increase is massive, thats just how namekians work. Universe 6 namekians fused to make 2 people ( you can assume their power levels began around the same as the universe 7 namekians being normally less than 1000) and they were able to match dbs gohan and piccolo.

Pick ohl's power level isn't as high as freezes, but apparently nail has the ability to perceive weak points and his fighting style. So, because piccolo knows frieza's fighting style which is like kind of stated in the anime, I don't know if it's in the mall. God, I don't read the Manga, but Neil even says something to freeze a weather fighting in a second form. It's only then when freeze a completely out. Powers pick alo and his third form that the power levels actually seem to match up. But apparently, if you know your opponent's fighting style and you know exactly how much energy to put into points where you're being hit and how much energy to put at the points that they are weak. Then it doesn't matter if the person's power level is double or even triple your power level. The fight will look, even you didn't just have to be fast enough to be able to either dodge the attacks or tank the hit

I've felt for a long time everyone just thinks of power levels wrong I remember hearing in Death Battle that the whole reason Toriyama introduced power levels was to show they didn't matter. Anyway, I think of power level something of raw power. You can have physical strength or flashes of strength created using technique. And when I think of it this way it makes sense to beat someone with a power level of 530,000 you wouldn't necessarily need to be anywhere near that powerful yourself. You would just need to be smarter. I like to think that was the reason Captain Ginyu was so weak in Goku's body. Goku's natural power was around 20,000 but he was able to greatly exceed that using special techniques. Ginyu only knew how to exert raw power so he couldn't replicate the power Goku demonstrated earlier.

When you factor in that 2nd form Frieza has a power level of over 1 million (and Piccolo's was comparable and even arguably higher), this means Piccolo's power level when leaving King Kai's planet to go to to Namek was over 200,000! 😮

The issue is Piccolo managed to hold the Frieza second form which had power over a million. Assuming the power of fusing with nail multiplies by enough ammounts. Piccolo had at least 600-800 thousant of power. He was little bit short of fieza 2nd form.

The power creep is real and it has a lot to do with the fact that power ups are all multipliers which I feel like wasn't a great choice because it makes it even harder to swallow when characters that don't have some sort of power up keep up with characters that do. Like SSJ is a x50 boost so Krillin for example needs to train 50 times harder to keep up with any saiyan and that's not including Zekai boosts. I can't help but wonder what is the fusion multiplier formula since if it's one player level multiplied by the other that would put him at almost 150M without Piccolo training. It has to have some relation to the power level's of those involved or fusing with someone weak would produce the same results which I doubt.

He’s obviously using kaioken to get up to 180,000 but what multiple, and is he still surpressing or is he actually pushing to the top? If that’s the case, It’s crazy to think that from the ginyu fight of 180,000 zenkai to fight Frieza in the multi millions. Would love to see a vid about this!

@@bluecomet8416yes in the manga, after using Kaioken & after getting his power read at 180,000 Goku said to Ginyu that he could get even stronger than just this (implying that he could still reach higher level of kaioken and then he powered down from kaioken). I’m guessing if he could have potentially been able to use a kaioken times 10 he would have been around 900,000.

I mean, you are entirely right. Goku gained about 47.15 PL per day he was on king kais(158 days). Meaning math wise Piccolo would have only gained 282.91 or so. Even assuming he can train harder due to a higher starting level(Roughly 6 times that of Gokus start when he trained on KK's planet) would only be roughly a 1700 increase. Multiplying it ten times would still only net him roughly 20.5k or so. The thing is Piccolo doesn't even looked even slightly phased by x10 gravity, hes floating and taking a f-ing nap lol. It makes 0 sense(Goku gets a pass in his 100x gravity because he Zenkaied like a madman). If he is 20.5k and nails boost is close to that of super saiyan he would be roughly on par with form 2 Freeza. You estimate of it being a total scaling asspull might be right.

I think his ultimate plan was to go with Freeza as a hostage. He knew he had no way of defeating Freeza probably after sensing his energy. Piccolo can say he's Freeza's only way of obtaining immortality, as long as he's alive to use Earth's Dragon Balls. While going to Earth to buy time, they can train. Then again, he was dead set on revenge.

Nail wouldn't have a frame of reference for how strong piccolo used to be. He almost certainly means that he had gained great power for a namekian in general. He's got to be at least around nails power. I really think he's around base gokus level when he got to namek or around 90k

Nail's comment on piccolo's strength clearly indicates that piccolo far surpasses Nail. Based on piccolo's confidence and he himself stating he became massively strong, we should assume that piccolo completely finished the training with master Kaio. The only real plot hole is the time window in which piccolo finished the training on Kaio's planet. 6 days is of course way too short of a time to finish that training. Based on both Piccolo's and Nail's statements regarding Piccolo's power, it makes the most sense that before fusing piccolo's power level was around captain Ginyu's Power level, and that after absorbing Nail his power lvl roughly tenfolded. Also, regarding the point of this video 'it doesn't make sense piccolo is not scared to fight a 1st form Freezer', don't forget that the further someone is from a power lvl source, the less accurate their sensing of that power lvl is. In other words, due to the far distance, piccolo cannot completely sense exactly how powerful freezer is, only a rough estimation. But Piccolo was indeed shocked at how powerful 1st form freezer's power lvl was even though the immense distance between them. The reason why he was still willing to fight 1st form freezer is because he felt he was somewhat a bit close to the rough huge power lvl he felt from 1st form Freezer (which would make sense if he has around 120,000 before fusing), and he felt he could aid the others and fight alongside them. Also note that after freezer transforms to his final form, piccolo was comletely in despair stating literally "you guys shouldn't have resurrected me, I can't aid you!", so this indicates how massive the difference is between post-fused piccolo and the heavily surpressed final form feezer!

Nameks were always a warrior race. It wasn't till elder guru reformed namek post famine that they became peaceful. The wartorn namek that bred kami/king piccolo that was his source of his dark side and unnatural split. The reason the namekians seemed weaker than him and freiza because they were a split of a split of the original nameks who had powers that could be closer to gurus true power. Guru could have been a fusion the last remaining nameks of kami's generation that didn't flee the planet and conserved his energy slowly rebuilding and repopulating the planet. Nail seemed like a warrior who reached his peak at 18,000 power and piccolo had a similar power level as his thus making the fusion even stronger than normal. So 36,000 times 10 multiplied by 3 would put his power peak just below freiza in his second form for five seconds, if he could get a shot off without freiza putting up a fight. Goku was about 180,000 base and could hit about 720,000 for three seconds per kaio ken. Freiza says his power is over 500,000 in his base form and hits over 2 million fully powered. Piccolo was confident he could kill freiza, until his final form, even having multiple strategies to work with Gohan to do it.

Good analysis, but I disagree with his power being equal to Neils. And my reason is, Tien Yamcha and chaotzu vs the Ginyu force. Who all have power levels close to neils. Piccolo fought them all by himself. Tien fought burter and J and made quick work of them both. Putting his power above Neil’s.

Okay remember the z fighters vs the the Ginyu force. They dominated them and the Ginyu force had power levels between 50-70k give or take. So z fighters had to be at 80-90k at the high end and Piccolo was so far ahead of them that none of the training was really for him. Nail whom was Ginyu force level but not beating Recoome probably about equal to Vegeta. So I'd say piccolo was easily on par with or just below Goku upon arrival.

I do know one thing. I still have a theory that the ultimate Fusion is Piccolo + Freeza. Piccolo has healing and can regen, Freeza is damn near impossible to kill. He would basically be immortal.

You can only guess that Picollo thought he was stronger than Freeza before he got there. Remember he's not a normal Namikian. He is a Super Nameikian, or rather his father was. Anyone with the "Lord" title is suppose to be a Super Class of Nameikian. Also one would assume the Multiplier is by 10 (just like the fusion dance) Base + Base X 10. It's never stated but it's a decent guess. He doesn't stand a chance against the 1M Freeza, but he's not instantly killed either. I guess he would ne closer to 500K - 600K. But since we don't get a look at freeza's scouter, we'll never know.

Let's not forget that filler also had the Earthlings kick the Ginyu force off of King Kai's planet. So maybe King Kai really was holding out on Goku. Either way, power levels are bullshit. I think the main issue with Frieza's saga is they made him BRUTALLY powerful. Say, he was 100 times stronger than Vegeta, who already was around 20 times stronger than Piccolo and Goku, meaning that Goku became roughly 2000 times more powerful in just over a year compared to his growth in the original series; and this made androids levels even more absurd.

Toriyama, I love ya... but the Namek Saga needed to be either Piccolo's or Vegeta's time. Since this video is about Piccolo... make the time he spends on King Kai's world closer to a year. That halts everything that led to Bulma and Co going to Namek, but that's quite alright. It just means Goku gets to tag along with y'all. Anyway now Piccolo's power increase makes more sense. He wishes to be revived and transported to Namek. Great. He gets whooped there too, by Frieza. Now what? He realizes only one person can help him become who he needs to be to defeat Frieza. And he hates that he has to say it.... The Namekian Dragon is summoned, and here comes Kami. For that setup, to Frieza versus The Nameless Namekian (Kamicolo), Super Saiyan can wait!
