Why Pokemon Pros were WRONG About Iron Crown.

Iron Crown was once laughed at as a seemingly terrible new Paradox Form of Coballion with little to offer.
Iron Boulder was the original star of the new DLC with its high speed and explosive offensive power.
However, with metagame shifts Iron Boulder eventually fell below OU, not enjoying the rise of Landorus Therian and suffering from its defensively poor typing and limited tools.
Iron Crown on the other hand caught the eyes of great players thanks to its Double Hitting signature move Tachyon Cutter, which works very well against Sash-reliant aggressive leads.
With natural Bulk and high Special Attack along with Pivoting from Volt Switch, Iron Crown also functioned very well as an Assault Vest pivot on Bulky Offense teams.
Iron Crown has now risen to OU as of July, overtaking his brother.

In the last meta I used a similar idea as a hyper offense lead counter in "Salamence". This Salamence had a "Choice Scarf" to outspeed all potential leads, but had a "+Attack" nature with "Moxie" to also potentially have some late game usage. The key to this Salamence is "Dual Wingbeat" which OHKOs "Ribombee" with "Focus Sash", and is fast enough to outspeed it as well, not letting it get up "Sticky Web". Along with the move "Iron Head" to face off against "Alolan Ninetails" and "Glimora" (although Iron Crown is notably much better against this lead) leads, this Salamence would often be up 1 kill with an attack boost after the first turn was over.

A mad funny option is specs crown. Before I tilted like mad, I got to 1600s with it because it was that funny. Not a very practical thing but man specs tachyon cutter hits like a truck. Plus it guarantees ohko on clod with psyshock and you don't need chip on kyurem for tachyon ohko. Again not exactly the best set, but give a shot it's pretty fun catching people off guard with it.

I'm not gonna lie, I saw Iron Crown's potential right out the gate. I literaly told my firend IRL that this mon definitely has a future. What's actually really cool, is that it volts vs Ghold and vs Kingamit, allowing them to be bullied by the right mons, and Future Sight / Psychic coverage disuades Great Tusk from switching in too recklessly, not that it enjoys taking Tachyon Cutters on the switch. It's also worth noting that booster speed cutter prevents most good leads from doing anything. I've had a couple of matches where I ended up having to pivot into a preserved Ribombee, so what I'd done, was go for Future Sight first, then OHKO it with Cutter, to force my opponent into their dark types. As mentioned, it handles Kyurem REALLY well, forcing the Tera, only for it to get removed by the Future Sight + Priority is what Poetry looks like. In my opinion, Crown, and Lokix are genuinely good mons. And there's actually potential for even more good sets out there.

I wish they also buff Iron Leaves. Well first thing's first, they can make Psyblade the common Paradox Musketeer sig move, just change its effect to gain the boost in Electric Terrain instead. Then they can give Leaves a new sig move. Dunno what it needs to be useful but I'm thinking of some light-based Grass attack that goes through screens and subs and ignore DEF boosts. The screens are not broken but instead powers up the move, basically roasting them behind it. I'm gonna call it Photon Slash.

I like that iron crown has been experimented with more, and recently become a proper OU Pokémon. It’s a very cool design, both visually and gameplay-wise. Hope to use it to great success myself.

Incredibly funny to consider people who exclusively play a casual fan mode of the game "pros." There is nothing wrong with being a fan of singles, but you all are ridiculous babies competitively. It's like me saying that there is this version of chess where I get to make all my opponent's moves for them and me being good at it makes me a chess pro. No it doesn't, I'm just full of it. Similarly none of the "pros" talked about here are pros if any of them consider Iron Crown or Moltres to be good.

It's time to set the record straight. High Horsepower isn't a move exclusive to horse-like Pokémon. The "horsepower" in the move's name signifies the power and force behind the attack, not the species of the Pokémon using it. Just because a Pokémon can learn High Horsepower doesn't mean it should be classified as a horse.

I don't get it. Iron Crown can't stop Ribombee and Ninetales from setting Webs/Veil turn 1, so how is it a HO counter? Even if they're dead, they did what they were supposed to do.

Pokémon pros were not wrong about iron crown, it has been seeing play as a Psyspam bot in VGC for a while, the format pros play. We need to stop pretending like Smogon is “competitive” and that “pros” play it. It’s laughable in every sense. We need to stop marketing fake competitive in a way that actual competitive players are intended to click on it and be disappointed

Hey this is the first video of yours that ive watched and it was a pretty good video, but i have some feedback about your editing. Its really just how you edit/do your narration. It feels very choppy and unnatural. I can clearly hear that sometimes you have 4 different takes edited together for 1 sentence and you rarely get through a whole sentence without the editing causing issues like unnatural rhythm (because of weirdly long or short pauses) and pitch shifts. This makes it hard to follow sometimes, as sentences and subclauses dont follow a natural rhythm. I think this is where you could make the greatest improvement to your videos atm. Recording whole sentencesb (sometimes multiple in one take) might be hard at first, but its going to make your videos so much better, and its going to make your editing way easier as well. I can only imagine all the cuts you have to do to construct a semifluent narration built on 4-8 word clusters. I wanna finish off by saying that it was still a good video, you are good at making it very digestible, and I think you could make absolutely great videos with more natural sounding narration. I hope you can use this and find it constructive:)
