With rides under 5000 feet of climbing, my SL with 60nm has kept up decently well with my full power buddies. I feel like I can enjoy catching air and getting a bit more loose on the rear end with the SL. But I will add that I weigh 140lbs with full gear on. Riding a Transition Relay PNW (mullet) with a Fazua 60. I like it for my trails and riding style, and haven't felt the need for a full power rig.

Tried both sl and full power, I tried the SL first and I immediately knew I wanted the full power version, if you already planing on going for an e-bike just go for the full power experience is totally worth it. I'll only consider an SL version if the trails around you are pretty flat and mellow.

It's worth going for a test ride to see what's right for you, what full power bike did you choose in the end?

So in the video, fatty is 85nm, and then you said the SL bosch is 65nm. Did I miss something, as mine is 55Nm 🤔
@davefreeman9347Ай бұрын
It s a mistake the SX motor is definitely 55 NM

@davefreeman9347 I was wondering if they know something we don't, I heard a number of different things about 65Nm for SL and 95Nm for fatty 🤔 but just waiting for news about this 🙂

@@crazybaker1 unless there is a software update coming I know there is one for the new Gen 5 CX which will take it up from the 85NM to around 105ish in the next couple of months 🤷♂️

@@davefreeman9347 just thinking 100 + is far too much, I have 55Nm which would be top shelf, after having the fatty for 4 weeks 85 needs to be 95, 100 + life for parts are going to be very short, going back to my 55Nm SL, 6 months have gone testing out every thing 😀 1 of the best updates last week was Hill start, this is so good on wet hills, no worries about wheel spin 👍 😀

If you are a larger person go with the full beast. If you are a lightweight race horse go with the lite. Also the full beast will stick to the ground like glue and as i used to do moto that is my preference.

@@grantnewby3756 Yeah and get a coil shock and a coil fork if you can. A longer day riding without the harshness of air.

@@embn I have a 2019 Giant Trance E+1. Its got the Yamaha PWX2 motor with the Panasonic 500wh battery. The Fox DHX2 shock is custom for me but i cant get a coil conversion kit for my Fox 36 because its the ebike version and because the legs are thicker springs wont fit in dammit. Bike still goes like new.

Is it possible to ride with just the bottle battery? What is the anti-squat and anti-rise of this suspension? Is it possible to retrofit with Shimano XT Di2? Can a double crown fork be used? What is the maximum insertion depth for the dropper seatpost? Are the motor covers compatible with the Bosch GPS hardware? How does the GX Transmission work without a battery? Where are the cables and adapters routed? Can the Bosch PowerTube 400 also be mounted?

Neither. I had awful service from Merida and wouldn’t go anywhere near the brand again. Go with a reputable brand with great service like Trek, Specialised or Santa Cruz 👍🏼

Neil Donaghue, the man that said he'd never ride an ebike, they're for cheats and will ruin MTB. (unless it's in Spain, and he's geting paid)

We have a local bike shop , I went in a few years ago when e-bikes were just starting to become a thing. When I asked the owner if he could get me one he laughed and said he would never even consider selling e-bikes. Now when I pass the shop he’s changed all his signage to include e-bikes. Money talks . So does age . I guarantee that by the time most riders hit 50 they be buying one

if the manufacturer starts to chase weight reduction then strength and build quality and reliability is reduced, with the cost of servicing and keeping your bike up together for the average rider is a big issue. i would stick to the over engineered build.

Can novice riders on 27Kg "bicycles" safely share trails with others riding traditional human powered push bikes? IMHO we should regulate trail access by mass. I'd draw the line at 18Kg so neither of these bicycle shaped objects would be legal on public off road trails.
