Coming back to say that I love the in-depth review of older products. The make-up industry is so fast paced truly unique launches don't get enough air time and end up being drowned out by the blah. I love taking that time to discuss truly different, innovative products. I'm in the process now of dramatically downsizing my collection due to eye irritation issues and wateriness which means powders break up horribly on my eyes. The thing I love about the Roen quads is if my eyes freak out, because the look is already soft and smudgy there isn't really anything to break in the first place. In a way my eye issues are a blessing because it means I'm no longer obsessed with the next eye shadow palette I want to buy. No point buying something I can't use.

100% agree with this! I am not a makeup girly AT ALL but I bought two Roen quads because I saw HLP use them and she looked exactly how I like makeup to look i.e. I was wearing eyeshadow last night and slept in it and woke up like this ✨

I've gone back & forth on the roen quad for years! Esp the 11:11! They definitely seem like they'd be right up my street 👀🙌 That said, my no buy has been holding me back from purchasing, even from boxy! These crease like a bitch on me but they’re so satisfying to apply that I wear them when I’m only going out for a couple of hours. I like to describe them as eyeshadow for grown up, glittery finger painting. The texture just speaks to my heart!

The long awaited roen review!!😍 pretty sure I got my 11:11 at the same time as you via boxy, and have really enjoyed developing my relationship with it. Despite the lack of similar texture in the 52, I'm still lusting after it in my heart of hearts as those colors are so up my alley. Side note, I bought 2 bright yellow tops at a rummage sale last week, and a bouquet of sunflowers today. Grayer fall days here on the coast are settling in hard and my soul is craving bright yellow; seeing you rock that shirt is making this video extra enjoyable💛💛💛🌻🌻🌻 Edit: good job wiping all the fingerprints off the compact for the close up😏

Thank you for your review! It helped me manage my expectations on these new to me palettes. In taking your comments into consideration, I actually used the mauvy shade today to visit family. I didn’t want disco ball glitter on my eyes to have them question my sanity-I’m in my mid 50’s and conservative in makeup until now that I’m exploring more color. Anyway, I used Mac Bare Study from the crease to the brow (light taupe pearl), Araceli Wine eyeliner smudged out, mascara and this was honestly one of the nicer looks I’ve had in a couple of months. Very daytime appropriate- but you’re right- in soft low lights the glimmers twinkle in a very subtle sophisticated way. I can’t thank you enough for paving the way to such a positive experience when it could have been quite frustrating, given the price point. I plan to keep playing with these!

Ohhhh my. That shade you're wearing in the yellow shirt segments is soooo stunning. It literally looks like Vaseline on your eyelids and I'm HERE. FOR. IT. I like the Auric creamy shadow formula, and I like RdF's Ash & Ember Eye Soots (even though they are SO difficult to pry out of their tiny jars), so I have a feeling I'd enjoy these Roen shadows very much. As an aside, I'd like to know what you think about the RdF Eye Soots, too. Or any of their eye makeup in general.

It’s the BEST shade of all the palettes! I haven’t tried the amber and ash eye soots but I have tried the celestial eye gelees and didn’t really care for them.

Dyou have Pat's artistry wand? That and Fenty primer are the best bases I've tried so far-- my lids are super hooded and slightly oily, so they're prone to crease when something is too emollient like urban decay potion but those two dry down once set with eyeshadow. I really want a warm and cool quad to use with the glossier monochrome trios or just dark concealer for an effortless yet impactful lewk. Black Friday can't come fast enough 😭

I love my roen quads and throughout wearing them I’ve found that specially the nars eyeshadow primer allows for really good wear time like about 8 hours. I don’t know what it is about that specific duo but they’re great together

Polarizing for sure! I get MAD glitter fallout from my 52* palette in a way that I don't with any of my other cream shadow formulas. It's bad enough that I've given up on using it. I'm genuinely happy for everyone who has a good experience with these palettes, as the effect is gorgeous and they're also just beautiful objects to live with. However, I'm going to blaspheme and say: my supershocks eat my Roen quad for breakfast.

Okay, so since this afternoon I've been inspired to pull out my palette for tonight's Makeup Playtime and ... the glitter is still all over my face. But I do love the slouchy, glossy, lived-in effect. I was happy to write it off as a lovely objet d'art (mine was a very kind gift and has never been at risk of getting decluttered) but I think you've inspired me to give it another chance, albeit with a tissue under my eyes for the rogue glitter bukaki.

I use the smashbox waterproof shadows underneath the roen and it's a game changer for me. No fallout. It still breaks and creases eventually but way less despite the fact I have oily eyelids.

I also got the 11:11 at the boxycharm sale - I both like it and don't. I think the formula is beautiful and I love the scattered sparkles/wet look these give - but I'm not living for the colors. I wish they were cooler in tone, but then I feel the 52° doesn't have the level of shine (from photos I've seen, anyway) that 11:11 does. Still trying to futz with it, though.

I would say you’re right. The shimmer particles aren’t as prevalent in the 52° but the shades are much cooler in tone. Idk about the quads I don’t have, but I wish they had more of those really sparkly shades in the other palettes.

I totally understand that. I feel like all the reviews I saw of the quads were glowing almost saying that they have no flaws, but like they definitely do you have to decide if you’re into what they do.

Hi Jinelle! If you really like sparkly makeup then I think these could work well for you, they are a bit fussy because of the creasing that happens with them. If you don’t like that then skip them. If you were looking for easy cream shadows to work with the Charlotte tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize, Tom Ford cream shadows or even auric smoke reflects may workout for you!
