@@letstalkaboutmentalhealth Your podcasts have been a vital tool for me dealing with my mental health. The wait times here in Scotland are huge for face to face therapy. But thankfully l have found your guidance and knowledge very very helpful. So much so l keep a journal just to jott down hints and points from each podcast that l can implement daily. You are a great orator, and an inspiration. Thanks so much for helping me through a challenging time.

Can you do a video or perhaps share some insight on letting your workplace know about the state of your mental health or diagnosis? I was having a conversation with my friends who have been helpful talking to me about their situations. (I’m new to the anxiety tribe lol.) But I found it interesting how when I asked “Does your workplace know about your diagnosis or mental health state?” They said “god, no!”. I’m curious as to why people are apprehensive to talk to their employers about the support they need to be a good employee if theory’s not willing to disclose it. Perhaps it was a bad experience? Do you think it’s a good idea to tell employers of your mental health? Or is it a bad idea? Love your videos and simple explanations ❤️❤️ I tune into your podcast every week

Hi Moana! First, thanks for the lovely feedback, much appreciated. Second, that’s a great idea for a topic and I’ll definitely have a think about how I might be able to address that over the next couple of months. There are lots of different things to consider when deciding whether or not to disclose so it’s a good subject to explore. While I think you got across the need to make space in life to rest, which was helpful, I would have liked more focus on what is rest, how do you create a space to rest and the impact of adequate rest on mental health. Maybe this is covered in other videos or podcasts, so I'll check them out too.

Thanks Gary, I did actually go into more detail in the podcast episode on rest (episode 109). It was a challenge to find the balance between depth of information and not making the content too long. Thanks for the feedback and enjoy your day 🙂
