Yeah good performance but I got a different take. Arteta is finally getting that being too defensive not always good and switched up the midfield completely today. Right choice given the opposition. Doesn't really matter since we are not winning the league, but would be interesting to watch what he ll do in that aspect going forward. If you play 4 cbs I think playing j20 with rice or playing partey with merino allows for better balance in the team btw attack and defense. Playing 4 cbs and two dms is ok vs city but other pl opponents not so much. Arteta may have realized this and could make adjustments going forward, we ll see. I personally liked seeing nwaneri play, and I reiterate my belief that he should have played more in odegaard s absence, it's just so clear to me now.

I actually thought calafiori didn't impose his personality on this game much. He can do a lot better But I agree his overall game just brings a different level of dynamism and balance to the team

I feel like he didn't need to really impose himself, the game state didn't call for it. We were very RHS dominant going forward and Cala did what he needed to, he was solid at the back and filling in vacated spaces when needed. It was a self aware and humble performance imo

I think his performance was exactly the more measured and controlled outing I called for at the end of the video as we ease him in again. There was also the threat of Elanga in transition, which probably made us stay a bit more rigid at times. Instead we let him provide that burst and tempo in controlled bouts.

Oh, for the love of god. Stop trying to pin zarsenals performances on 1 player, both good and bad. The clubs biggest problem this season with the first half of last season was it's manager who somehow took the most feared attack in the league with speed and chaos and did a 180 and made it the slowest most perdictable attack in the league. Yes, getting Odegaard back helps, but what we wittnessed was our opponents wet dream. They have been watching us walk the ball up the pitch, possing them no threat at all. And when we got the ball into the final, we just passed it around the horseshoe of death until we crossed the bsll to nobody. Even our corner kicks have become perdictable. I can not remember the last time we kicked the ball short on purpose . We were great yesterday because Arteta final saw what we all saw in game 1 of last season and the beginning of this season. This team was built with speed in mind not this ploding boring handcuffing style. It doesn't and has never worked for us. But your all saying we scored our most goals ever last season, my answer ,most came after the Dubia break when Arteta finally turned our players loose. At this point of the season before the Forrest game my score for Arteta just like the first half of last season was and is a 2.thzt score will go up if he continues like last game but if he gose back to that losi g style of slow progressive football it will drop again. We would have won that game with or without Calafiori.
