But do Russian oppositional figures such as Navalnaya have support amidst the population? In my experience, even Russian liberals have a rather cynical view of democracy and human rights. That they're just things that you pay lip service to in order to get access to Europe. It's save yourself and f*** the rest. They don't have the first idea what democracy means. That the government of the people and by the people involves the people. From speaking with these people, I've concluded that they're just waiting for a good czar to come along and give them democracy. This will never happen because it's always a power struggle. The willingness to fight for it isn't there in Russia. It is in Ukraine, though. A Ukrainian victory is the best possible outcome for Russia as well.

Ukraine has an appetite for democracy so long as there isn't a candidate like Viktor Medvedchuk or Yanukovyc who represented the Eastern Russian speaking people. A large reason for the outbreak of civil war in 2014. The problem with the West is that they want democracy on their own terms. If they genuinely cared about democracy in Russia, why not mention the Communist party which is the second biggest party. Navalny as a legitimate opposition figure, I'm afraid has always a figment of our imagination, and I imagine the same could be said of his wife. Reminds me of when they pushed Juan Guaidó in Venezuela even talked of him as if he was the president.

Let's break this down appropriately. Xoxols are not Ukrainians .
