I would be super interested to see the other side of KZbin Kids. When KZbin was fined for collecting advertising data from kids, kids creators were really concerned about the hit to ad revenue. I also know that when you click "Yes, it's made for kids," it normally disables comment and ratings even on the native KZbin app. I'd be curious to see how someone gets approved for the KZbin Kids program, beyond just selecting "Yes, it's made for kids" when you go to upload a video

Watching my 5 grandchildren interact with social media and the internet in general. I already see that the harmful impact we all know about is actually amplified. Reasons you mention definitely: repetitive watching, the internet being the babysitter. They aren’t reading, doing art projects or going outside. They aren’t even gaming, they are watching other people gaming. It’s a slippery slope for creators and the family of kids.

Hey guys, great video. An easy way to increase your audience retention at 30secs to 83%: -ditch the intro -if you do decide to do an intro, keep it short: 10-15 secs max. -don't name your intro chapter "intro". chapters are shown in search now and skippable before watching. Hope it helps :)

I love this take on this topic and brought some good insight. Tbh, I have been on the fence with kids watching KZbin or KZbin Kids. I have two sons. Oldest is 6 and the youngest will be 8 months. My oldest son has been watching KZbin/KZbin kids since he was an infant. Certain videos would sooth him. Which I thought was nice, and certain videos are entertaining and some are educational. As he got older he became interested in certain KZbin kids channels; Ryan’s World, Extreme Toys TV, and on regular KZbin he is interested in gamers like FGTeeV, which is a father and son channel. We started to notice a drastic change in his behavior. For the worse. He started talking different and became addicted to watching KZbin, and would become aggressive when he needed to get off. To give some clarity we try to limit his KZbin watching time to an hour/day. To test the theory we went on a one week no KZbin “cleanse.” First couple of days were rough. Lots of aggression, tantrums, and pouting. After the 3rd day we started to see an improvement. As of now my girlfriend and I let my son rarely go on KZbin. We try to focus on him getting real world experience and learning before he becomes too involved in the digital world. The point I’m trying to make is KZbin is an incredible tool that can be utilized in many ways. For kids and adults. BUT there is still much to be learned on how KZbin will affect the young generation of kids.

It is weird to see money and product advertisement related to kids, but they certainly did it with kids TV too. A lot of adults have nostalgic interests that technically came from advertisement that mixed TV shows with products like action figures or dolls. At least now it's a bit more democratized and open to have checks and balances. I'd say the whole big 2019 drama related to kids content was necessary and ultimately good so that there is real separation now. Edit, maybe I should make a very simple explainer video about cameras and put it on YT kids... might be a fun project.

Have you guys heard about Hanalei Swan, her parents encourage her to take decision and gave her sense of responsability early. Social Media is part of the world, restricting it to kids, is not teaching them to make it an opportunity.

I have a hard time with "kid" specific content in some cases. I have never envied Ryans Toy review for the use of the "child" as the face of the show but I understand how and why it has grown like it did. I just feel kind of bad for the Ryan almost being put into a spotlight or situation that he may never get out of or be able to understand "real" or normal life practices. Maybe that is a backward way of thinking but I feel like the learning and understanding of how the 99% of people really live in this world is lost in these "content" famous kids on channels across the board. I would love for my kids to be able to create content and become "rich and famous" off of it but at a certain age really. These channels with 3 and 4 yar olds like Ryan and A for Adely and such - those kids will never know the shorter end of the stick on life so to speak. Maybe that is just my ay of thinking about it but not everyone gets to live the life like Ryan can now - just hope he doesn't end up an "entitled - snobby rich kid" because he was basically used as a trojan horse into fame and fortune by his parents - or resenting the process, his parents, and life style later in life.

I understand the concern, but I think you're doing a ton of projecting here. I do not think it's the same thing as if he was a Hollywood child actor. He's just in his home making KZbin videos. He can still go to normal school and all that and the content just requires he open toys. Something kids normally do anyway whether a camera is there or not. This is not the same thing as him being on a movie set for 6 months with a ton of adults he doesn't know and going to award shows. I think he will be just fine.

@@VMYeahVN I can understand and respect that. But I don't think he is anything like "regular" kids by now. No one making 20 mil a year off something this popular can just go to a regular school They can barely go to the store. In another video on KZbin and I think even a C & S video they talk about how hard it is for a kid to have to deal with this level or "fame" And honestly if anything it might even be worse than Hollywood simply because of the lack of social interaction. So I am not so sure that "fine" would be the correct level of mental health a person who will literally never know what it is like to want something in life and not be able to have it.
