Out of curiosity Northcoaster, how come so many Ku band dishes, do you not like usals? Is it difficult to lock in at your location with a motor?

I have a motorized dish as well. When I started in this hobby last year, I went with several stationary dishes. Generally I prefer them to motorized ku band dishes.

It is better to have both a motorized dish and multiple fixed dishes. I only have Ku Band dishes. While the motorized dish is an advantage that you can receive multiple satellites in time you will discover that your favorite channels are on different satellites. So to make it easier you install a fixed satellite dish or multiple satellite dishes and you don't have to use your motorized satellite dish all the time. Not to mention that you have to wait up to 1 minute until the dish is pointed to the satellite you want to receive. For example you have 3 favorite channels on 3 satellites, then you need a motorized dish and two fixed dishes. You can connect multiple satellite dishes to a switch. A switch is an electronic device that allows you to connect from 2 up 16 satellite dishes and the output is on a single cable so you don't have to disconnect and connect other dish (not to mention run multiple cables in your house) the switch is programmed from the satellite receiver.

Can the satellite be hooked up with an antenna for more coverage?
@NorthcoasterHobby3 жыл бұрын
You can definitely have a TV antenna for local over-the-air channels, and a free satellite TV system. But keep them separate. Satellite receivers output voltage through the coaxial line to the satellite dish LNB. Connecting a TV antenna to a satellite receiver can be downright dangerous, and possibly lead to a fire. Keep the two modes of TV reception separate. Connect a TV antenna directly to the RF connector on your TV. Run a channel scan for local channels. Connect your satellite system to the television via HDMI. This way you get the best of both systems (both in HD as well) safely. Thanks for watching!📡

@@NorthcoasterHobby Oh wow wish you were related to me so I could beg for help. 😄 I'm pretty good at doing these hook ups but this is an intimidating project. Thanks for the the upload the response and your time. Stay Blessed.

@@tb8810 it’s not too difficult, just keep the two separate. Start with a TV antenna, it’s more straightforward. Thanks again for watching!

What Is DVB T2 terrestrial ?
@NorthcoasterHobby3 жыл бұрын
I believe it is a standard of over-the-air antenna TV used in Europe.
@jonfr2 жыл бұрын
That is the Over the air standard in Europe. There are two standards, DVB-T (older, obsolete) and DVB-T2. Europe also uses DVB-S (older, obsolete) and DVB-S2. Cable in Europe uses DVB-C, the standard DVB-C2 has been developed but is not in use last time I checked.
