When we push away "negative" emotions we then create the habit of pushing away emotions in general, even "positive" ones. Here's a quote from Khalil Gibran: The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives? I totally agree that emotions "in the present moment" are the only ones we need to experience. They will lead to past trauma if that's necessary. Thanks Dan for your daily videos. I'm getting better each and every day.

In society we are taught that the only good emotion is being happy which is so not at all true. Yes, we need to feel all of our emotions and not put ourselves down when feeling angry, sad and such. Great video Dan! Thanks

When we push down our emotions.. they can cause depression… illness , pain etc .. Dr Gabor Mate talks a lot about this. Worth a listen 👂 Ps we need to feel them to heal.

We love you too Dan the Mindset Man! Dan I feel like I’m reaching another level in my TMS Journey renovations to 3 floors of my house and 2 almost done! You ask me 6 months ago I would have a freak out instead I was calm and said YES to life this is not dangerous! It’s alot of work and can be stressful but the tools I have now helps me so much look at things differently! Instead of reacting I’m responding in a CALM fashion! If I need breaks I take them go walk on my grass and don’t feel bad about it! I’m becoming the person I was meant to be and will be forever grateful to you Dan teaching me your concepts and putting them into play! Still in your Calls don’t plan on leaving soon so your stuck with me for awhile! My local park , (well 2/3rds of it)has been taken over by Burberry, for a fashion event! 11days setting up for a 4hour show! Money talks. Made me so cross. Limited green space here in central London & local authority turned a blind eye to all their own rules that have blocked locals from using the road cut throughs (re pollution, unproven etc). Anyhow I've written to my MP about the impact on health etc. So now I have to let it go & find somewhere else to get in nature. Think a few sleepless nights, noisy neighbours and dogs have magnified my emotions 🙄. Breathe ...

I 100% agree with you Dan. I am a big fan of therapy overall but I don't always think it's beneficial to poke around with our childhoods and our past...we can all find something wrong there and it likely has little relevance to our current situation. I believe a coach is way more valuable during the recovery from chronic pain/illness as they can help us have awareness/navigate all the emotions/grief etc that comes with that...its important to focus as much on the positives as we can...we have learnt so much along the way and usually have much better lives as a result ❤

Great advice Dan. Yesterday I let myself feel the emotions after having some flare ups at work. The biggest difference is that I decided not to freak out and vent about it after work. Instead I went to the gym and continued to resume my workouts I stated back up 2 wks ago after realizing I’m not broken. That led me into having a great second half of the day and waking up today feeling much better.

Dan 😊 I believe at least for me. I need to stay in touch with my emotions. Not being in touch with my emotions makes me feel feel like I am disconnected from my emotions and myself. Yes absolutely when it comes to refresh repressing our emotions. In my humble opinion, I feel that it leads to physical ailments. We are what we think.😊 Namaste 🙏🏽 ❤
@Inge508 Жыл бұрын
I think once you start really listening to your inner voice, you will inevitably recognize that old emotional stuff blocks your happiness- health now.. You don’t have to go in detail back to all the hurtful situations because that would mean you never let go and retraumatize yourself over and over. I did some EMDR, some journaling, listened and read a lot about abandonment, co- dependency,inner child and FORGIVENESS. The last one was the most difficult because I had to take responsibility for my own actions too in doing that. Forgiveness is a liberating act, that heals lot of trauma for me. You don’t agree with the abusers but you forgive them and yourself and reframe all those old situations.. Then every time I feel a kind of emotional over- reaction, I just soosh myself and tell myself: ‘ this is old pain, I let it go’.. By doing that, I feel mentally and emotionally a lot better. Physically is where the fear- training needs to be done for me. I’m a work in progress but life is much easier now without all past trauma and emotions.❤

Hi Inge delighted you feeling better ..well done ❤ EMDR is very good too. It’s different strokes for different folks …an Irish saying 😆 Dr Gabor Mate has videos on trauma and it’s affects on the body. It can be the cause of a lot of pain, addictions and health issues. Have a good evening 🌸💗🌸🌸

So true, stirring up emotions from the past is never helpful or healthy. Inge, you should do a video with Dan. I would love that! You always have such wonderful comments and insight. I also am working on the physical sensations which move around it seems. But I try to say that they are not for me to give much attention to. It is just stored emotions and my brain sending signals which are basically phantom.

Hi Dan, we all have experienced times when bad/unfair things happen to us (for example getting a travel insurance claim denial for a big sum of money). How do we learn to accept them and not let things bother us emotionally, and deal with painful emotions and triggers? Do you have any videos on this? I don’t want let this event cause a flare up or trigger older stuff (safety). I am finding it hard to sleep. Thanks so much for all you do🙏❤️

When I get stuck in "stuff" I say to myself "if this was your last day/week on earth, is this how you'd spend it?" Usually a big no is the answer. We all use a great amount of energy on crap stuff. Make "what ifs , even ifs" we survive.
@teatimetraveller Жыл бұрын
I think the point is that things do and should bother us emotionally. Getting emotional is a perectly normal human response and when we don't its a sure indication of surpession or repression. Why aren't we letting ourselves feel, what are we scared of?
