For me, I swing trade on the 4H time frame in the direction of the trend. Using limit orders, I can get much better entries with better risk to reward but I miss amazing trades that don't activate my limit order. Using buy/sell stops my profit per trade and risk to reward is smaller but my win rate is higher. Personally, I prefer using buy/sell stops because I can't mentally deal with too many losses.

a stop is a market order, too "retail trader" = market in, market out professional traders = limit in, limit out (no stops because position sizes are at least 1/10000th of account size)

Instantly what you are pointing out makes massive sense. Key level entry allows clear interpretation of price behaviour. If its strong it is expected to get away quite quickly. But sometimes we can get in before the consolidation may start to happen, and we have to sit it out, and this is where correct position sizing for trade account size matters: previously I have micro managed as position size too big for small account, too painful to allow for price shifting up and down, or SL set too tight again due to wribg position sizing. I'm not even sure if you'll say anything like this, only a 3rd in, but your info is so useful to provide clarification and broading of understanding. Huge appreciation 🙏

So proud of me, i'm applying ichimoku and didn't loss anything, youhou... since yesterday. It's like the first day without alcohol... feels good. But if you look at the EURUSD, you see that the intermediate trend could fit into circles... while ichimoku is level-bounded. BTW you are always right in misusing indicators.

Sometimes I'll park limits in places where I am trying to get in and if the price runs off and I really want that position sometimes I'll market in. Once I get in I set my stop at my risk for that trade and if it doesn't kick me out I'll sit on it until it start making gains, and then Ill pull my stop, wait for it to hit my target then I take profit, unless it's a swing trade I'll just adjust my stop to keep a little more profit as the price rides

Hi...is it possible to put buy order at stop loss?

Why would you buy at the same place you sell, you're already in a position

Hello guru, that depends on the exchange platform you're using as they all have different options. which is yours?

Are you trying to arbitrage between the spreads as an HFT does? This is difficult and the best retail traders' machinery cannot be as efficient.

But NOT for scalping, because it makes you overconfident, and prices always comes back.
