Why should you play Skyrim with the Nolvus mod pack?

Hello everyone! Today I am here with a different topic than a lore video. I have always stated that I use the lore-friendly Nolvus mod pack in all Skyrim videos I create for my channel. So why do I prefer the nolvus mod pack? What are its advantages compared to manual modding? In this video, we will try to answer these questions by supporting them with visuals without filling your mind too much. I just started using this modlist- it is incredible. the truth is Skyrim is more Skyrim now than it ever was with these mods completing the game- it seems like an unfinished product without all of the work from modders

I'm always impressed every year when I see videos of mods in Skyrim. Though I've never had tried playing a modded version, it always amazes me what people can do with this game. From simple graphic upgrades, to new gameplay style, to adding new features, mission and places to explore. I just love the enthusiasm of the community that they continue to expand the game in ways for everyone to enjoy.

for immersion and keeping the skyrim feeling I prefer lorerim. I'll try nolvus later but lorerim is much more fitting for an ''enhanced skyrim'' because it stays more true to skyrim and expend on it. much more immersive also. nolvus still looks sick for a flashy power fantasy.

there are modpacks that I wish were mixed together, like Nolvus + Licentia + Ultima.. daaamn, now thats a good game. I am sure there are more out there, like Lorerim for example, but I haven't found all yet.

I tried Nolvus and have to say I wasn't keen. I didn't feel it enhanced Skyrim, it changed it into something else which I wasn't looking for.

This. If you know what you're doing, it is MUCH better to build and curate your own modlist, containing only the mods you want. That way it's also much easier to keep track of what you have installed, for when/if things go wrong, you can have an idea of how to fix it.

You’re not wrong, I’ll be getting my GTX 4090 soon and I’ve been away for a couple years, but it’s beginning to look like I’ll have to create my own mod list as there are things I like with this list and Eldergleam. Guess I’m on my own. 😅

I mean I would try it out, but my 2080 super is probably just not enough VRAM for it. Something I prefer over big overhauls? Stability and smoothness. If my game can’t run at AT LEAST a stable 60 fps, count me out…. In a year or so when I upgrade PC, then I might check it out

@@TheGaming_Man turns out you were wrong, I tried the REDUX version, which is the lowest settings possible, and in the region near riften black briar manor I was dipping into the 45-40fps lol, sometimes even under that :/. I tried RUDY ENB too which is the most *performance friendly* and in towns, like white run, windhelm or riften I would hover between 45-60 depending on where I’m looking at. But the instability is what kills me. I’m used to smooth, constant, no dips under 60fps or even run games at 144hz usually. Unfortunately I’ll have to wait to really give this mod list a shot and play something more light in the meantime.

​@@ReisseT it always amazing me when I see people complaining about sub 60fps gameplay. As if it were something we've always had as gamers. Perhaps the younger generation. For me, if I can get a stable 30fps in an rpg, I'm good. Would I like more? Sure. But it isn't necessary. In a competitive game, 60 is ideal of course.

Nolvus is and probably will always be the No1 mod collection. As for visuals and easy installation through it's own installer! That's my arguments. No2 is "Blood & Lust" which I currently using. Advantage of "B & L" is way faster loading and saving times because Nolvus needs MUCH more time loading the game and a save....

I tried Nolvus once and never again, it's just too "clean" and everthing just dont blend well together, Lorerim is just better imo

Modpack seems pretty cool, but could leave the "Super-Sexy" fem armors. It be armor. It's supposed to be protective. Not sure if that's the modpack, or TGM himself who put in the sexy-armor. If'n I give this a whirl, I'll probs leave out those kinda mods. Otherwise, pretty cool modpack.

From the gameplay I've seen of this modpack, it mostly looks amazing, except I'm not a fan of the combat animations. They feel so out of place to me. The rest of the modpack seems great though.

My only issue with Nolvus, as well as other modpacks. Is it does not support controllers. You can get them to work, but it takes a bit.

Hi. Which enb preset do you prefer? I can't decide among them. I started with Rudy (I'm playing Skyrim for the first time), and the standard starting sequence of the game (when you're brought in to be executed with the three other prisoners) seems quite dark and colourless to me. Thanks in advance!

I use Rudy, but I manually adjusted the brightness and color settings from Rudy ENB's in-game menu. I think this menu is opened by pressing the HOME button.

I'd love to modify nolvus myself to what my current skyrim se setup is. Its basically an economy overhaul of skyrim. No more levelup's or perkpoints. You get a specified amount at the character creation screen. To get stronger, you mainly go to NPC's to craft, upgrade and enchant your gear. You have your armor, rings, necklace, etc. to enchant, so plenty of slots to make yourself stronger. I also made sure to add a lot of ways to spend money. Now you gotta pay taxes, gotta pay for the maintenance of your and your follower's equipment, etc. Plenty of ways to earn money too such as selling loot, collecting rent from properties, etc. It also forces you to interact with more mechanics of skyrim like standing stones, getting rare permanent buffs, etc. Because the world never levels up and you have a hard cap on your abilities, the end game won't become boring. The economy feels more immersive as now things cost a LOT more. It always felt so weird how cheap everything was in skyrim. Most importantly it makes the end game still fun. You'll be stronger, BUT not obscenely so. Your magika, stamina and health will be limited to an extent meaning buying/crafting potions will be required for some of the highest spells. Followers are FAR more helpful now. Selling loot is a lot more meaningful and better integrated. There's more interesting ways to improve your speech. You can get drunk (to an extent) and boost your speech, pursuer bard's college + worship dibella to boost speech. You can buy up a shop in a city you're thane of, set rent to zero and get the best discounts possible. Meaning to sell weapons/armor you have to buy up a blacksmith shop. To sell potions you have to buy a potions shop. To sell general goods, buy a general goods store, etc. And if you set their rents to zero for max discount.

You could give Wildlander a try; it has graphics settings in its launcher, so that you can quickly test out its different settings. They also give a rough estimate of which settings to choose based upon gpu on their site. It's a Requiem based list though; I love it, personally, but it's not for everyone.
