Good for you! There is an old Catholic saying about the death of the body and where the soul goes in Latin, a dead language still used by Rome. Anyway, just any good deed, whether you saw it or not, makes your parents be in a great place. The soul is eternal and Christ saves every single soul. The body is where He mostly has to come back to save a soul, again and again. God bless you, Sweetheart. Pax O.

I was watching the news when the Katrina was going on in Louisiana, after the 4 or 5 days of this hurricane, there were over three thousand bodies floating out of their caskets. This is why I cremated my husband because if there's a hurricane I don't want to see his body floating around and this is what I'm deciding to get cremated because I don't want to be floating either.

What happens to the tombstones and ashes to those who decided to be kept at a cemetery 100-150 years from now? How do cemeteries have enough space of decades and centuries of bodies. Do they dispose of them after a number of years? I never understood how that work. And why is so expensive??

Why did Jesus want us to remember him by eating his body and drinking his blood? Now THAT’s weird when you think about it on face value. How about sacrificing your own children? (Abraham and Isaac). How about committing adultery and then having a temple made for you? I find it hard that the church moralises about how people manage human remains when so much of the theology is twisted.

@marasilveira69262 ай бұрын
You can’t compare saints with regular people. Saints are in heaven, and most of them suffer a lot before death because they decide to pay for their sins here. We all will spend some time in purgatory… that is why it’s not good to keep ashes at home. It needs to be placed at the cemetery.

My late husband has a daughter that is close to my age. She tried to prevent me from even having a part in laying him to rest, much less would she allow for me to keep all of the ashes. He left me financially on empty and I had no means to pay for his cremation. So she paid for the cremation but kept a small portion. I let his ashes set in the church for just over a year & am finally ready to spread the ashes. But he won’t be “all together “ as it were. I just have no control over that. She’s already spread her portion and I don’t want to keep the rest in my home. What a mess 😣 … all I can do is spread them where I can and trust God with what happens after that

I'm not saying you're wrong at all. But I'd like to share this story with you. So my father was cremated and I had made a move from New York to Florida. And it seemed as if I most definitely had some overbearing evil entities attached with me. Now I don't know that or not . And I would like to point out my belief is not that that goes on necessarily. Nor is my belief that it doesn't go on. But what I'm getting at is my dad's ashes were still in New York and I was at Florida. We had all sorts of weird things start going on at the house. My mom thought I brought something with me from New York. Which considering I was going through rehabilitation from 16 years of drug use and that I was also having PTSD symptoms. I absolutely would not doubt in my most vulnerable moment if some negative entities had tried attaching to me. But again I don't know how that actually works at all. So this is pure speculation. So my mom goes to New York to visit some friends and return my dad's ashes to me and to the house in Florida. I made the comment that you know. I have a feeling when you bring his ashes here. All these weird things are going to stop. Is she goes. I know I have that same weird feeling. And guess what exactly happened? The moment his ashes got in that house all negative activity stopped. And there was nothing overbearing going on. It was mainly there would be popping noises that would happen in the middle of the night that we could not find any reason for at all and they're popping noises that would have nothing to do with the house settling or something like that. It was more as if somebody was taking a 2 l bottle and then crinkled it up and then blue air into it rapidly. There's nothing in our house doing that. I also had a late come on one time. And I also had a vision of something very bad when that light had came on where I should say before. And then the main thing that went on was that I constantly would hear like little chattering like it was outside my window and I could never tell what it was being said. But I could hear it constantly. All that stopped the second my dad's ashes got there. So I didn't say this to argue with what you said. However, I think there's more nuance and subtlety to the whole ordeal. And that there's many different ways to go about the whole thing. You see right now I just want homeless so I'm trying to figure out what to do with their ashes and how to respect it correctly because as of now they're just in a tote packed away. And I'm not okay with that. For all I know it's something bad to do. That's why I'm trying to figure out exactly how I should honor those ashes in a spiritual way besides spreading them. But how I should honor them as I keep them in an urn.

Watching an estate liquidation documentary, I saw a worker flush an urn full of ashes down the toilet in a New York town house. The widow had passed away, and they found the urn floating around in the home's inventory. As a Christian, it was rather shocking to watch. As an Episcopalian I was taught that human remains are sacred - and that Christians should be buried together: to await the general bodily Ressurection. Not be made into tacky knick knacks to be worn around the neck or placed on a keychain. Our downtown church has a collumbarium in a small garden. There, we can pray for and remember our brothers and sisters who have passed.
@sonicexereaper6814Ай бұрын
I’m a Christian, but in my book, there’s a big gap between using the words of the church to “obey the law”, and doin’ what’s right to make others feel happy, especially considering the fact God and Jesus only wants everyone to be happy. For ashes to be scattered, it’s considered a sacred wish family members must commit to make sure they pay their respect for their deceased loved one. As for keeping the urn, here’s a thing. Many of us refuse to bend the knee towards funeral expenses, being concerned of funeral company corruption like headstones being buried or bodies removed, and many more. Also, their deceased spirits has already moved on, but some of us still want their presence to be there so we can interact and pray to them throughout our lives. For me, if I can get my parents’ approval, when the time comes, I plan to place their ashes on the tree sapling. Not only do I have someone I can stay beside with, but I’m sure God, Jesus, and my parents would be grateful that the trees grant good life to those around them. Nature, human life, you name it. So, in my book, I’d say let everyone decide what they want to do with their loved ones, and let the deceased before they die decide their own wishes.

My dad died when I was 16 and I've kept him in my house for 13 years and we were close and I don't see anything wrong with it. God doesn't care what is done with the physical body because our spiritual bodies are renewed and ppl shouldn't focus on things that don't matter, serving God comes first and matters. Having my dad with me has not hindered me from God's purpose in my life and I've been blessed by God and I focus on living for God and I know my dad's at peace and that makes me happy. When I walk by my dad's ashes it's a reminder of how blessed I was to have such a loving and caring father so it points me back to God and living to serve Him. My dad's ashes remind me of God's love and God's importance in my life. I didn't bury him cuz at the time I didn't have the money and I prayed about it and keeping feels right because he's where he'd want to be anyways.

Flesh is flesh. The spirit is who that person was and has now gone. I know I l'm only keeping his ashes. I'm still in peace and in comfort, knowing I have what remains was once his, but his entirety is now with Heavenly Father. I already had said my goodbye when my husband left me on this earth to he with the Lord. (Genesis 2:7), this is how humanity began: "The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." God then called the man Adam, and later created Eve from Adam's rib.
