Both got it pretty bad in different ways Taven’ entire family dead and Shujinko’s entire youth wasted on for someone’s personal gain. However I feel more for Taven playing through Konquest you can relate more to the kharacter and feel for him where as Shujinko not so much due to his go with it gullibility imo.

Shieett Shujinko would not only have beat MK1 with relative ease but probably even second tournament when our OGs confronted Shao Kahn for the first time and he would have fended off Shao Kahn’s invasion during MK3, just imagine Shujinko going through em Goro, Shang Tsung, Kintaro, Motaro, and Shao Kahn maybe even have a friendly rivalry with Liu Kang who knows.

Maybe how do the Brackets even work in the MK Tournament. Like the only ones that made any kind of sense were the original movie ones. My guess is that if you win your pre-selected fights you are eligible to fight the all of the others in opposing team that also won their fights are all defeated? So Liu Kang would still win his fights but he and Sujinko would probably both be runner ups to fight Shang Tsung.

What Damashi said doesn't make sense. " you need the evil taint to travel to the dark realms" such as? He doesn't need to visit the Chaosrealm anymore, he has that kamidogu, he can clearly enter the Netherrealm without problems( and again, he has that Kamidogu) and we see pure, untainted souls like Liu Kang and Raiden enter Outworld all the time. And I don't see how Seido or Edenia would require the evil taint of the Netherrealm......they could have come up with something more believable to justify Shujinko not beign in MK1

Damashi did it most likely because he wants to control Shujinko more as he does now and he cannot do that, if Shujinko's soul is too pure for him, so he would be unable to do what Onaga says and even see through his deception, if Onaga does not corrupt him enough. Also the Kamidogu can change their location if someone finds them, so someone could enter a very deep and dark plane of the Netherrealm that would be inaccessible for Shujinko with his small tain of Corruption. Also Raiden is a God, so that rule might not affect him as it does with Mortals and Liu Kang is hella corrupt, he was tained by none other than Quan Chi himself, that makes him irredeemably Evil.
