Side quests can add a lot of fun gameplay to a game, but when a game is over saturated with them, they begin to take away from the games enjoyment

Exactly! Especially when they're not there as side content but just as a bridge between the main content

I just think you’re jaded from AC side quests. I felt the same way with Odyssey. I was having a lot of fun until I hit a point where I wasn’t “the recommended level” so I tried doing some side quests. But the experience gained was so low it was such a grind and then I realized they had an online store where you could “speed up the process” 😒😒 The new AC games are just designed to be micro transaction cash grabs or long slow grind fests. Which is a shame because they do have beautiful and detailed worlds to explore. Good games like the Witcher, Elden Ring, etc. are basically all side quests but you can’t get enough of them. That’s the difference of games made by quality developers that respect their players.

I didn't even know that micro transactions could "speed up the process" I don't like that. Such a shame, because the game is great otherwise

Depends on the game like cyberpunk 2077 I’ll do all those side quest all day I always hundred percent that game

That for sure makes sense! Cyberpunk seems like the kind of game to have awesome side quests

Great video! But, like others have said, this is pretty much purely a Ubisoft/AC issue. Odyssey and Valhalla were the worst culprits of this. The Witcher, Souls games, Fallout, Cyberpunk, all have great side quests that pretty much make the games.

Thanks! And I could definitely see that. But I feel with those games they are actual sidequests for the curious players, not forced sidequests. Thanks for watching😁

I get what youre saying I feel the same but after youve played ac origins or even mirage, valhala and odyssey side quests seem very boring And if youve played witcher 3 or fallout youll almost hate it Because thats how good those games side quests are, i have spent hours (150) just going around the map and finding points of interest, but in case of valhala and odyssey, the side quests become very repetitive and boring after a while

Good to know, which means I should definitely play origins and mirage!

I think origins gets boring after like the first 10 hours as you have to constantly grind in order to progress the story

Side quests are alright if copying god of war and yakuza for example, what carries side quests are the small ideas portrayed well enough for you to take a lesson from it, that and the dialogue.

Right! But turning it into something forced upon the player before being allowed to do the main quest again...not cool

@@SirShelfu the only game I know of to do that is Assassins Creed, and that game has many problems with this one being that it entices you to pay to level up by restricting you from main missions, side quests in general suck in AC due to the fact there's not one drop of love put into them
