This is great! I have 2 kids who work left to right in their head. This will make so much sense to them

Thank you so much Stefani! Glad I could help in a small way 😊

Interesting way of solving these problems. Definitely different than how I was taught, but I like how it breaks things into easy to understand chunks when solving the problem. I can see why this would be easier for students to pick up and become proficient to the point where they can quickly do these problems in their head.

really it is a much easier and safer method of teaching the basic operations than we have been for years in using in our schools.

I taught myself to work left to right decades ago. The addition presented here is more complicate than it needs to be and the subtraction is *shudder* even worse. Edit: I thought it stopped there! The multiplication is fine, but the division is even worse than standard long division. I can't imagine why I would each my kid to divide that way. Bar Models seem to be a visual precursor to algebra, and I am curious to see the transition method/material.

I like the subtraction method, but the division seems longer with additional steps since traditional division is also left to right ?

I totally agree! I think the benefit with this method is so that kids could have a strong understanding of an estimated answer, such as it will be around “4,000” and just being ahead of the answer 😊 thanks so much for watching! 🙏

The addition and subtraction seem to me more complicated than carry a digit.. Double zeroes are the easiest part of a calculation in the "normal " way. Your way makes it a mess. I don'tknow if this makes easier to calculatein other bases, but in base10,this is not cool.(or i am too old to learn new tricks)...

Thank you for watching! Yes, it may take a bit of time to “re-learn’” since most of us are used to the traditional method ☺️👌 I think it is nice to know both ways!

This is totally stupid. Leave math alone.

Right? I understand the concept, but this is just adding more steps to a simple equation.
