I have never understood this weird modern idea of achieve and then leave. If there are interpersonal or money reasons I could understand but the Yogscast provides more then just exposure. They provide support and structure. I am sure they handle some of the financials and all of the minutia that comes with owning a company. If he is having a hard time he has people he can reach out to and lean on. People who he knows will be there. With this market who knows how stable his situation will be. We are talking about the Yogscast here a group who used to be one of the most popular channels on KZbin. Them not being in that position anymore is honestly a clear sign that this is not a stable situation. The Yogscast are established and will likely never dip too much for years to come. Its the same thing with startup companies let me do all of this work and then once it gets noticed and we hit that mark of being "successful" sell it off and leave. Yogscast invested in him and he has invested in Yogscast he helped grow as well. What reason does he have for leaving really? A bit more money and a ton of stress over the eb and flow of popularity and the burden of handling it all himself. If it was money I am sure he could negotiate a better deal with them. What real negitive does being with the Yogscast bring that bring on his own will not have or will not amplify as he will have to deal with it on his own? This is all beside the point that only the rats flee when the ship might sink the crew stay they dredge the water and plug the holes because that ship is their home the storm will pass. He is also just good person its not about greed for him he likely makes more then enough money what does he need that much more for?

I see a lot of people in the comments saying "Lewis and Simon gave him a huge boost." I think that's a little misleading. Sips didn't get onto KZbin and streaming of his own accord and volition, not like say, the newest Yogscast members that were kicking around and joined the network. Sips was just their IT guy, managing their site, and their gamer friend that helped projects. Eventually he just started making more appearances on the channel and Yogpod to the point it only seemed naturally he get his own channel when all the other classic Yogs showed up so he could have his own platform that was "in brand" and in line with the others. You wouldn't say this of Duncan or Martyn, that Lewis and Simon "gave them a boost." They all started as a cohesive unit that just happened to need their own pages.

I was amazed because it hadn't occurred to me. I couldn't believe that she thought I would want to set up my own business and deal with all the legal, personnel and finance stuff that multiple other people dealt with where I was! Your comment reminded me of that, that there are some personality types that relish owning the company and organising how that stuff is done how they want it, and then there are those of us who want to do our own skilled, hands on bit and not worry about the other stuff.

He's big enough that any cut the Yogscast gets is insignificant. The Yogscast probably streamlines a lot of the admin and business side of streaming (for example Joe did his current stream assets). He's still friends with many people involved. Most importantly, he isn't restricted at all in what he can do, he is still very much independent to do what he wants. That's why the Yogscast works it may have a corporate side but it is a support network and a community that you are free to engage with as much as you like (some members don't at all which is fine). Lewis, Harry and Ben have some of the most important and influential roles in the company but you would hardly know it coming in blind.
