The International Court of Justice is now hearing a case brought by South Africa, accusing Israel of genocide. Rulings by the ICJ are legally binding, but the court has no way of enforcing them. So, will it make a difference as the Israeli war on Gaza goes on?

I have to shake my head at the world stage. Israel became victim to a massive terrorist attack on October 7th where 1,400 men and women both young and old were raped and/or killed but do we hear any condemnation of those who commited said actions? My summary of Israel arguments. 1. The word genocide came about because of Jews - therefore we can’t be committing genocide. 2. South Africa didn’t notify us of this in the correct order. 5. Don’t take any notice of the public statements from our leaders alluding to genocide, we promise, behind closed doors we ask that civilians be protected. 4. Look at this nice statement from our PM that he conveniently released yesterday saying we don’t want to hurt civilians. 3. We had to bomb civilian infrastructure because Hamas was there. (No mention of guided vs dumb bombs being used) 6. We dropped flyers and social media posts saying to evacuate (no mention that areas people were told to evacuate to were also bombed or that no power meant social media useless) 7. Conveniently, between being notified of this case and today we have started letting some aid into Gaza. I apologise that these points are out of order, someone shuffled my notes. 😂

So you are telling me that in Gaza where there is an average population density of 6500 people per square kilometer, it is still okay to bomb areas knowing these places mainly have over 6000 people just because of some Hamas members? Even UN experts now estimate that every 10 minutes in Gaza, there is one child dead from an Israeli bomb. South Africa identifies with the oppression & cause of the Palestinian population due to also having experienced an Apartheid system imposed by one Occupying race over another inside of it's very own lands, & so which other nation is a living example that peace & equality can still be achieved? For a fair & just resolution to this conflict to even be put on the negotiating table an immediate ceasefire is necessary....& so even if in the long term the judgement somehow goes against South Africa, the preventative measures likely to be placed in the short term is at least a tiny step toward the right direction! More importantly, it will make life more & more for Israel's enablers to continue arming them, as well as bringing in desperately required humanitarian aid to save thousands of more Palestinians from dying due to Israel destroying & denying them basic essential needed for survival!

Indefencible cannot be defended. Whether it is by the UN or ICJ the outcome remains same. Israel has given the verdict in the UN; surrender the culprits and peace will happen. Israel wants peace and safety for it's citizens. It is futile to engauge in seeking justice through court of law by a party that started the cycle of violence with genocide. Further they are swearing to repeat the brutality. No Court will be in a position to guarantee peace and safety to the Israeli civilians and it is the sole responsibility of the Israeli govt alone. Vengeance, hatred and violence are not the prerequisites for Peace and Justice. Charity begins from home. Demonstrate Love and Respect. Justice and Peace will follow. God is great. Save humanity.

Why did south Afrika not file genocide complaints against Saudi for bombing Yemen two years back? More thann 370000 yemenis, most of them children perished in saudi attacks. This is a classic case of double standards.....

Showing fake voice messages and making excuses of what happened to jews in Europe before 1947 is not going to justify what the Israel is doing to Palestinians today. ICJ should show if they are on the side of justice or unjustice. They should not do the same as the UN. They should show that they are unbiased and work on facts not excuses.
