Why Spot is the Perfect Villain

Spot. When I first watched ATSV I didn't think much of him. But then you guys told me to rewatch the movie so I did. And watching it again I realized that he was kinda perfect. I could not think of anything wrong with Spot. It was incredible.
Please watch this movie for sure. It's the best of all time. Also play DIsc Room. Greatest game of all time. Also, invincible is the greatest show of all time. All these art pieces have so many parallels to draw from. They are all masterful in their own way. Shout out to Julian Dama. He knows.

Andrew garfield letting people get hurt in order to make jokes was less confusing, he was only dealing with a guy driving a stolen truck. Morales watched a guy with portal powers destroy a shop then wisecracked the villain AND left without paying the store-owner for the meatpie (the owner asked for money)

Finally, a unique and refreshing perspective on this villain. Not a lot of people noticed, but ATSV was really underrated and one subtle thing that people missed is that Spot is such a subversive villain. You see, at first he WASN'T a villain. You don't see a lot of villains like this, Spot's a really groundbreaking character. He used to be a GOOD GUY/loser that turned into a BAD GUY. This is a very clever and deep writing trick that's never really been done with spider-man before, it calls back to 1 or 2 other unique spider-man villains like Dr. Octopus, spider-man 3 venom, spider-man 3 green goblin, spider-man 3 sandman, the lizard, electro, tasm green goblin, mysterio and nwh green goblin. Plot twists are so great! The way Spot was built up as a villain and then disappeared 2/3 of the way through was such a good decision, now not only did it subvert filmmaking by not having a 3rd act, we also get to watch it in another movie instead! And the way that there was no climax or narrative structure for the last 3rd really adds to spot's development because now instead of him fighting in the climax and escaping to complete the 2nd movie to set up the 3rd movie, instead we get to see the antagonist disappear so that a brand new plot can start where Miles gets chased around by a bunch of inhumane sociopathic autistic spider-men trying to kill some teenager's father instead of apprehend a multiversal level omniscient supervillain with limitless power

Theres a video on youtube where a guy spends 30min talking about hobbie, as a character with some sort of deep philosophy, which he pretends he doesn't care, but ultimately cares. Now i don't know how or why a character whos on screen for less than 15min and speaks for less than 5min, can have a 30min video dedicated to him. Fascinating that the visuals and audio/soundtrack carry this silly story harder than King james and the 2018 cavs. Reminds me of Wes Andersons the French Dispatch.

I was debating making a rereview on this movie but I didn't think it was necessary. I've thought about the cannon event stuff and I honestly chop it up to lazy writing. On top of that the characters felt a lot more artificial. I would probably give it a 5-6/10. Still a quality movie

@@RSG200 i would consider the vast majority of the characters poorly handled, the plot to be pretty bad, and the worldbuilding to make very little sense, especially crossing over the MCU, comics, and spider-verse movies themselves, their multiverses aren't exactly compatible. But to be fair, BTSV could always change certain things so I wouldn't take any firm stance until that's out. If I had to place it at a number at the moment, 2-3/10 but subject to change if canon points get explained and become less nonsense in BTSV

I like spot but a good villain? He's got a relationships and motivation for sure but he's literally used as a means to get into an actual plot. Should I really care that he said Miles, "I'm gonna kill your dad," when I compare it to a guy who is a failed spiderman. A spiderman who would rather save 1 and not many if it meant a lower risk. Hell, the supposed next movie doesn't even look like it even cares about the Spot. That's how insignificant he is despite having a gun towards a major characters Dad. TL;DR: Spot sucks.
