Speedsters can work with being overpowered if them at max speed is draining/ damaging to them so they can’t do it all the time, that can make it cool as well when they finally go all out as opposed to “why doesn’t he just do that all the time”

This video feels like a misdiagnosis of the real problem. He’s like Superman: too powerful for his stories to have any real weight in fights against anything that isn’t reality shattering. You can write those kinds of stories well, but it also starts to become ridiculous when you reach that point and you really railroad yourself on potential opponents when you hit “I’m faster than time itself” levels of bullshit.

With Flash being the main inspiration for speedsters, it's real sad how they mess him up so bad every time. Marvel has some of the best speedsters, especially Makkari in Eternals.

I completely agree with this video. I watch a great ton of movies and I can tell when a movie is good or not. When I watched the movie I couldn't understand the hype,yeah the animation was great,a few jokes here and there were great but mostly the entire movie was badly written. These so called interaction scenes that were supposed to be emtional were cringe asfuck and the characters this time were just straight up terrible. The pregnant afro spider woman riding around in a bike? I mean who came up with that shit? And the indian spiderman was worse coupled with the spider punk. Most jokes were recycled from internet memes. It's a mediocre film with terrible writing, characters amd plot. Into the spiderverse was much much better than this.

I think this is a bit harsh tbh, there was bad writing to *force* the situation but for example with red rush we're shown that omniman can react really fucking fast, and with superman it's shown that the snyderverse speedsters are still affected by forces equally. Barry is slipping and sliding all over the place, superman is sorta gliding but it's still hard to move well. And with red rush, we're shown that he's not actually that fast, besides the comic-book aesthetic, he's basically a low level speedster by speedster standards but his reaction time is just higher.

This is a double-edged sword. You can make these arguments by taking everything super realisticly. I can make the argument that all of these people are still human, and therefore simply having lungs with Aaron them would mean that using their powers should just immediately kill them. Because that's what superspeed would literally do to them. Except for Superman. Reality is none of it's supposed to be realistic, they are supposed to be fast and not infinitely durable and infinitely powerful. Also in reality because they're not supposed to be that durable, and yes I'm aware of how the speed force kind of thing works, the actual recoil from them throwing punches at supersonic speed should just put so much stress on them that they're more than likely to hurt themselves more than whatever they would hit.

Invincible came the closest I think to the problem with speedster powers. If I wrote a speedster they'd be dealing with a lot of trauma mentally from using their powers. Even if they could turn it on and off each desicion to use their powers would be agonizing. If they got bruised theyd feel a few moments of pain for what feels like hours. Their lives would be immensly lonely, even as they are surrounded by people. You dont need bad or unrealistic writing to weaken a speedster
