My American friends are shocked to discover that in my small village in the West of Ireland we begin the day BY GOING TO MASS! And the parade is largely children walking down and then up the one road in the center of town. We are right by Croagh Patrick. Also - he was Roman, making him Italian not Irish. So many questions.
