Had a 2013 passat LS and was worth the price. Unfortunately a drunk driver broadsides me totaling it 3 months ago with 26000 miles. Just purchased a 2018 R Line and highly recommend it.

I love my 2010 Passat - 120K miles and barely a dime (well, maybe $100 a year) into it. I want high MPG, so probably won't get this one - but maybe a test drive is in order!

If you test drive one you know you will have to buy it, so watch out! That's why I am afraid to check them out at the dealer.

It smells a bit like what VW claims "an American engineered" version - that is, stick a big engine in it and don't upgrade the tires as needed, etc..... I think I am taking it off my list due to potential reliability issues...although I will do some research on the engine first. Then they are the questions such as whether the tranny and other parts can withstand the stronger engine.

That's why I don't like american cars, for that reason. I am going to just keep driving my 2016 jetta 1.8T. I love the car and want to put 200K miles on eventually

Having known many Europeans, I can just imagine them making jokes like "hey, just put a big-arse engine in that thing and Americans will snap it up!" - they do like such jokes. Yes, I think I want a German model of something...or else Japanese. After that Olds that fell apart at 29K miles, it's hard for me to forgive.

It sucks that here in america we don't get most of what VW offers. I was in Taiwan a month ago and I saw a new scirrocco, that car was beautiful.

I have a 2013 Passat...I hope the new ones hold up better. It's not like I've had a lot of problems, but the suspension is done after 82K miles and it's just dated and worn in general, although it never had the taughtness of VWs I've owned in the past. I had a 2001 Jetta before and that was a better made car. I also have a 2013 beetle convertible. In some ways it's like they aren't made by the same manufacturer. 5 VWs so far, probably will look elsewhere next time.

James Lagnese what suspension parts went bad? If they were bushings that's common across all vw and Audi.

There is some squeak, but the struts are done. The car is not setup like the European Passats of the past. It's not tight at all. Get 4 adults in the car and you can feel it. I'm 6'5 and it's easier for me to get in and out of the Beetle than the passat and the ergos were made for a much smaller person. On right hand turns the rear view mirror blocks my vision and sometimes my foot catches a little of the brake pedal instead of the gas. I didn't have these issues with the Jetta or my beetle. It's like it was made for someone 5'8. Luckily it's my wife's car, but I have to drive it occasionally. The vehicle I wish I had kept instead of getting the beetle was the 2009 Suburban. The engine needed to be rebuilt, but it was paid for. I should have just fixed as I can do those things. Wife said, lets get a smaller vehicle...Anyway, when the weather's not too hot, I ride my R1200RT.

Such a different experience than my German Komfort (2010)....it basically is like new at 120K although my spider sense tells me it's time to start looking for something else. I generally get new cars at 100K or less just because I value reliability over getting every penny out of a vehicle. But this has ran so perfectly that I kept going.

Love the VR6 engine had a 2004 Golf MK4 R32 and lost it to a flood. MK4 R32 are going for ridiculous money with very high mileage and the one's with low miles I would buy a new car. So in my opinion the Passat GT VR6 is more bang for your buck if you are a fan of the VR6 engine 😉

Disappointed with thr tech in the car. It's truly terrible seeing as almost all of VWs models have improved tech and the new Jetta goes as Dar as to have a DIGITAL dash, vented seats, interior mood lighting and a huge 10 inch full HD touchscreen

sarina ss from what I'm seeing, the redesign Is already done and for sale in Europe. Thr 2018 European Passat is the redesign. We in North America still have the old model for 2018. It looks pretty damn good, but we'll see what we loose and gain when it comes to North America.

Great Value? lol. VW has been known for high maintenance costs due to expensive parts, not to mention its poor reliability.
