I ran 800m and 110 hurdles and they are the 2 hardest events I've ran in track. I'm usually a distance guy, but I did hurdles for fun and I'm more tired from the 110 hurdles than the 800m even when I give my all.

@@PremierCCGuyMMXVI The probem is the IOC does allow certain substances. Performance enhancing drugs are a range of products not one or the other, so you can't really be either 100% natural or juiced up. As a result there are always some athletes or camps trying to push the limits/standards set by the committee which will always lead to some dispute over what is and what isn't allowed. In this day and age, nobody is perfectly natural because that simply cannot make you competitive enough.

The last 100m is a killer I always hated running this event, I'm a great 400m runner, but the 400mh is so technical. Getting over the hurdle isnt even the difficult part, it's the stepping like they explained in the video.

If we could just take a moment to highlight Edwin Moses. Between 1977 and 1987 he won 122 consecutive 400m hurdles races in a ROW, and set the world record 4 times. There's a reason that Young refers to him as "the Master Edwin Moses" here.

I definitely think that track is one of the most underestimated sports in terms of difficulty, I guess it’s because almost everyone can technically run (even if it’s in terrible form) unlike something like gymnastics where not very many people can do backflips, I don’t think people understand how fast these people run and the amount of physical fitness it takes to maintain their speed for the distances they do. I guess that’s a testament to how easy they make it look but unless you’ve actually tried to run alongside someone running a 4 min mile or one of these guys sprinting at full speed it’s hard to put into context for fast they are actually going. Anyways much respect to the track people out there.
