The A300 was Airbus’ first aircraft and there are only a few places left where it is still in service. In fact, Iran is one of the countries where the plane flies with several airlines. Let’s find out why this is...

I flew a few domestic flights in Iran: cheap, comfortable and right on time! It was older MD88 or Fokker 100 but they seemed to have a good maintenance. What was impressive though was the number of dismantled aircrafts at the airport, probably sacrificed to get spare parts to maintain those which were flying! A220/A320/737MAX for replacing the merdium fleet would work well. (F100s, MD88s, etc.) For the 747s, either the A330, A350, 777X or 787. A330 would be a good option as they already have the aircraft and it would have less costs to maintain a mixed LH fleet. The regional fleet won't need replacing much due to the ATR 72s that joined the fleet when the sanctions were briefy lifted. Hopefully these will be lifted soon so Iran can be back to normal. 🇮🇷
@KJGKJG-lp7ll
@KJGKJG-lp7ll Жыл бұрын
The problem is even if sanctions are lifted, everyone knows it'll only be temporary, and Iranian airlines will be left billions of dollars out of pocket for a load of aircraft that'll be grounded when parts get sanctioned. Since fuel is cheap in Iran, it'd be best to take a hit on efficiency and go with the late Soviet models (TU-204/IL-96/IL-114) from Russia that are 100% certain to be free of any western components that could be embargoed. With a large enough combined order from Iranian airlines, they could justify some modernisation and efficiency improvements into new varients that are still 100% Russian or Iranian part sourced. (the obvious one here would be a TU-204/214 with newer PD-14 engines)

THe C919 and ARJ-21 out of China both use western engines and avionics, as well as about 10% of minor sub-assemblies coming from abroad, so they're a non starter. Russia supposedly is "localising" the MS-21 to be 100% Russian, but it wasn't built to be a local plane, it was more like the Sukhoi, meant to be a global product, so I'm not convinced it can be localised completely (same as the Sukhoi, which is meant to be being "localised" as well). Their best bet would be to play it safe and go for the TU-204 narrowbody, which *is* 100% Russian, as well as the IL-114 turboprop and IL-96 widebody (which is a quad jet, but, hey, better a fuel burner than a plane shaped collection of parts sitting on the tarmac waiting for a widget that'll never get delivered).

@@xlinkkaisaintsrow2365 I‘m really not an expert on that topic but it seems to be possible to import a limited amount of used aircraft. Mahan Air for example operates A340-600s previously owned by Virgin Atlantic and other Iranian Airlines managed to acquire A320 family aircraft (and others) which used to be operated by European airlines. So it seems like there’s a way for used aircraft to imported and with all these now stored aircraft they may have a chance to get some

If sanctions left out, Iran air and other Iranian airlines will solely order more 400 aircraft cause Iran domestic market is huge plus you got international market also which will give aircraft manufacturers a good boost in their order table. Boeing, Airbus, ATR, Embraer and Bombardier along with Russian and Chinese aircraft manufacturers can get a good business out of it. Rather than sanctions come towards peace and boost business. at the end both countries related to business deal will be benefited

To be honest, Trump's 2018 sanctions was pure manbaby drama. Iran acted in good faith and had a rock solid agreement with all the major world powers (US, China, EU and Russia all signed the agreement). All the other signatories tried to get Trump to be at least somewhat sane but but torpedoed the entire thing and the agreement collapsed. Everyone lost that day. There were no winners, and it wasn't the Iranians fault (something the EU repeatedly pointed out as they tried to desperately to salvage it). This should have been one of the first things Biden looked at, but he was too busy.... i dunno... doing whatever it is Biden does rather than actually tackle the elephants in the room.
