You’re most likely taking a stud receiver in the first rd. This draft class is pretty loaded

He's the textbook example of a guy with alotta talent wanting to show they wanna win by whining about touches but doesn't show up when the moment comes. Now you tell me how MVS can make clutch catches for multiple playoff games in a row and he's a season-long screw up while the "elite receiver" cant?

He was a TOXIC Drama queen that wore out his welcome. They can replace a 30 year old diva with a 20 year old in the draft for a fraction of the price.

I'm a little confused. Is Buffalo still taking the full cap hit for Diggs? Is this like the Russell Wilson situation where Pittsburgh basically gets him for a million bucks and Denver still paying his salary? If Buffalo still has to pay the cap hit wouldn't it have been better to just keep the guy no matter how bad the relationship was. They get a second round pick and then a fifth round pick as I recall but that's all it costs the Texans? It seems like half the teams in the league would have offered more. I know his personality is part of the equation but I still don't understand why Buffalo is paying his salary. Not even that but it seems like they're paying $3 million dollars more than they would have paid. That doesn't seem like a good business proposition.

The dead cap has to do with the signing bonus they paid him; when teams give players signing bonuses, the cap hit from that money is spread across the length of the contract. The Bills, after trading him, now have the money they paid him that would’ve been spread across his whole contract condensed down to this year. It’s money they •already• paid him but hasn’t been fully accounted for in the salary cap.

@@will4486 I love all the minutiae of the game but the salary cap can be a real bitch to understand. All I know is that the Cowboys are certainly not attempting to max out their salary cap this year. It certainly feels that way anyhow.

Seems like they actually were THAT motivated to get rid of him - or rather let him go possibly. Additionally, seems like they'd rather not screw themselves two years in a row as opposed to just eating it now. It bought the Bills $19 million next year. Hurts right now - in the long haul it may be better business for our bottom line with a 30+ year old receiver. Diggs was almost a non-factor down the stretch last season and guys like Kincaid and Shakir - with Brady play calling - accounted more for the win streak and playoff run than anything. Allen stayed the same while Diggs dropped off hard. I wish Diggs well. He was my fav player next to Allen. But this was meant to be and best deal they could get.

It’s about cleaning up the cap for 2025. Dead cap pushes everything to now.

doubt Diggs puts up numbers if he stays with Buffalo this season, and lets them trade him or release him next year when the contract gives the team an out with no cap penalties. so with lower numbers, either they cant trade him, or get nearly nothing for him due to less production. it was now or never if they wanted any kind of real return. dead cap hit is rough, but there wasnt any other choice really. you dont keep a guy like Diggs around if he doesnt want to be there.

Diggs isn’t anywhere close to what Justin Jefferson is! There is also no way the bills are interested in another head case in OBJ coming off of just getting rid of one in Stefon Diggs

Wrong, many of those INTs were bounced off Gabe’s fingertips or balls being forced to Diggs. Bill WR room will be better to start this season than last.

look, Diggs wants to win. he knows he cant in the AFC with Mahomes being what he is. hell, probably 80% of the players in the AFC not on the Chefs think that as well. Diggs has always wanted to play with his brother, and now with his contract voided by the Texans, hes free to move into the NFC and most likely to the Cowboys. Bills got what they could for a 30 year old receiver who did nothing for the last half of last season. Bills learned they could win without him, he wanted out, ez decision. im sure the Bills didnt want to eat 30 mil in dead cap, but things dont always work out the way you want. a 2nd for Diggs is fair value. maybe Texans get the old Diggs, maybe they dont. a 2nd for a 1 year rental, a 30 year old, at WR, is super pricey. you never see that kind of return. Bills did fine.

Digs averages 11 yards per catch. He is not elite. He is a Wes Welker type. Super boring. Can the guy actually go down the field and make a big play? Also as a Vikings fan i am so glad this whiny bum is not on my team anymore.
