Bizarre Foods was and still is one of my favorite shows ever. I watched that series religiously from the moment it started in 05 or 06 until it ended. It was the best. It came before KZbin and all these other platforms...a time when all there really was was cable networks on TV. KZbin took the reigns now, and that is a good thing because we can now experience tons of adventures with all of these different youtubers creating all this content. But, Zimmern and Bourdain, may he rest in peace, will always be the best. They paved the way.

We got rid of cable in our house and it really wasn't due to a money decision, it was due to a change behavior. No one was watching it. Everyone was stream, and gaming. Long before we pulled the plug the Travel Channel programming had turned to shit.

I'm a Malaysian and i saw the durian episode on tv. Boy oh boy were Malaysians mad when he spat out the durian. I think it made into newspapers when they were a thing. We were mad because durian is like our national treasure. What made it even more frustrating was after that he went on to eat some of the most disgusting things, at least to us Malaysians. But it was years ago and people forgot about it. I personally kept watching andrew and was impressed with his guts. Watching this interview and watching him changing his views on exotic foods was refreshing. Truly a legend.

I almost cried!!! He has been one of my favorites forever!!! The fact that you get to interview him makes my heart smile!!!! Us Minnesota people have to stick together!!!!! ♥️ I have LOVED cooking “shows” since I was a little kid. Yan can Cook, Julia Child, Cooking with Jaques Pepin, the frugal gourmet, simply Ming etc…when I was little I wanted to have “a cooking show” that was what I wanted to do when I grew up…I watched so much of the original Iron Chef, and Anthony Bourdain my family thought I was nuts lol. I am old enough to remember when people like Jamie Oliver, and Bobby Flay first appeared…cooking is engraved in my soul. My friends and fam want me to write a cookbook, or make a KZbin channel, but…..I don’t measure, not even when baking so it’s kind of impossible 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit* how could I forget! Kathy’s Kitchen and Natalie Dupree!!!! Omg I’m old lol

That’s the one aspect I liked most about your show over Andrew’s show… the fact that you never disrespected any culture’s food. As much I liked Zimmern’s show, his spitting out food was offensive to me even though I don’t like durian either. I’m glad he stated that was one of his regrets. And I now understand that he was also new to hosting this type of show and grew from that experience. PS. Sonny, you are a superstar! Thank you for being you

Andrew Zimmern was the first person I saw make a show about "exotic" food from around the world and actually eating it while making it informative and entertaining, it made me happy cause it reminded me of my heritage and the foods we make, seeing an outsider experience it just made me love my culture even more than I did before, because I understood just how unique my culture is and every other culture. Much love AZ. Sonny revived the exotic food scene imo. He actually tries the food and makes it entertaining.

I always wanted to travel but Andrew was the reason i said " what am I waiting for? I have to see all this" and not just the food, it was seeing the other culture ect. So I dropped everything and took off to Central America for 3 months and have been hooked ever since.
