I’m American I can assure you absolutely no one does and I don’t know why the guy with a British flag is answering your question. In WW1 our entry did speed up the end of the war but it was lost for the central powers before our entrance. In WW2 we definitely did. If we didn’t enter the Soviets would’ve taken all Nazi controlled territory, because they would’ve reached Berlin before the Brits since Churchill wanted an invasion through Sicily. If we didn’t enter the whole continent would’ve been communist.

@@yiyodder You have got it all wrong. The 8th was in 7th armoured when I was in it in 1959. We were in Fallingbostel, which incidentally, was the home of the AFRIKA CORPS. It wasn't disbanded. We amalgamated with 5RTR on July 1st 1960. We moved out of our barracks and moved in with the 5thRTR in the adjacent barracks and our barracks were taken over by 13th/18th Hussars. When I was there last, in 1993 there was a big sign as you approached the camp which read, WELCOME TO THE HOME OF 7th ARMOURED. Why do you say 8rtr wasn't in 7th Armoured?
