Just bought a BAM 225 , I've had 180's but the 225 is pretty special, currently restoring her , incredibly fun to drive very responsive and has a genuine sports car feel in the cabin 👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve just bought a 2003 225 Quattro today. Get it next week. It needs some TLC and I need a hobby during the winter so going to get her looking fresh before the spring. Lots of worn out buttons, lcd broken, some small dents and cracks and some refurbished wheels for starters!!

I got my 2001 tt and I love it.. bought it at 215k miles and it’s still running at 221k! My coworkers couldn’t believe it when I told them it was 23 years old! The tt model is so timeless

I agree. I own one and it still twists heads no matter where you are, young and old, a lot of newer more sophisticated and expensive cars cant replicate. In many heads its like you roll on with a $200000 Porsche while the Car is dirt cheap. Timeless design and one of the most recognizable designs ever made.

Audi TT Mk1s are one of my favorite looking cars ever. I just bought a 2001 roadster in amazing condition in nimbus grey. It’s art. It drives better than my old boxster (Porsche) did, the interior design is just as gorgeous as exterior. It sounds great and love the turbo.

The colour of the car is called Moro Blue. I had one new with the exact same external colour in 2003. The understeer is partly related to the recall for the spoiler. It wasn't just the spoiler that was added. Audi also updated the electronics so that it caused a little more understeer.

I’ve been an Alfa driver for twenty years and run a GT 3.2V6, but bought a TT 225 last year for a runabout. Absolutely brilliant car! Fitted a RamAir filter and it’s had a Stage 1 remap. Sticks to the road and a hoot to drive. Surprisingly practical too with such a large boot. Negatives; not many. Yes, compared to my Alfa the TT needs to be hustled and pushed to get the best out of it, font end feeling is a bit numb. Overall, for the current prices, it’s an absolute bargain and I’d highly recommend it.

So.... "Why IS the first generation Audi TT becoming a future classic?" You reviewed the car, but didn't answer the question.
@modernworldiscrapАй бұрын
the only one that will become a classic is the manual Vr6, under 1000 were produced

I think the manual and dsg V6 will, that engine sounds the greatest of them all, no manufacturer is putting a engine like that in a small car again

Yes and honestly the mk2 it’s even rarer because they only made them from 2006 up to 2008, Manual ou dsg they are amazing

@@olli0477 I had a manual mk2 V6 on a 2009 it even had the later centre display white dial like the TTS's instead of red, very rare that late

I bought one in May SIlver 1.8 and I am so in love with this car. It is very fun to drive, it gives me very good emotions, elegant inside and out, I love the aesthetics, the mechanics are very good considering that it is from 1999. For me a dream come true, as a curious fact I get the license in October and this is my first own car. The only negative thing I can say is that the speed bumps are very noticeable, but that is because it is a low car, otherwise it is a delight of a car.

4:44 said nobody ever! How is the VR6 lazy?
@Buck33664 ай бұрын
That will be a statement owing to the far more linear power a VR6 has compared to a turbo 4 pot. I’d say refined is a better term to use than lazy, the VR just needs to be revved to get it to sing. Something it does infinitely better than the 4 pot.
@rjj004 ай бұрын
@@Buck3366 Agreed! It's very linear so almost feels slow but it's definitely far from it. Also very torquey low down. One of the best engines in my opinion for general spirited driving.
@Buck33664 ай бұрын
@@rjj00 They sound great, are generally smaller and lighter than a conventional V6 being staggered in-line and are a truly characterful engine compared to the glut of 1.8 and 2.0 turbo engines that all manufacturers chose to opt to use for mainstream hotter models. Oh and if you throw a turbo on one they are next level rapid ( See Officially Gassed cheap A3 3.2 cheap budget build).

It looks quite stubby. I'd prefer a used Cayman in that segment.
@spotontheroad14 ай бұрын
Me too, but the TT wins with running costs and useable load space, if those are important to you. And it is still a great looking car that is nice to drive as a daily.
