Why the FNAF MOVIE should NOT BE SERIOUS

UPDATE: Hey everyone! The FNAF movie came out months ago at this point and I was at least partially correct, so that's good lol.
Whatever the case is, I just wanted to say that I'm not really proud of this video anymore, as I realize that all the "research" I did was very surface level, especially since it was made on impulse due to a hyperfixation on the topic.
Anyways, I'll be keeping it up because whether I like it or not it's part of my growth as a creator. Thanks for watching!

In this video I explain why, in my opinion, the FNAF Movie should probably be a mix of horror and comedy, without swinging too much to either side.
Five Night's At Freddy's being one of the most famous horror franchises in the world, with the movie having Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Springtrap as its cast of killer animatronics.

I do think to reflect the story and vibe of the first game it should be a mostly serious movie, but also knowing Scott cawthon (who has a say in the story) he’d probably want some humor in there. I’m guessing it might become a little more comedic as the trilogy goes on, as we get to explore the surviving characters more. I have an inkling we’ll visit SL which had a few comedic moments so it’d be more fitting for that to be more comedic (much like Chucky who became more and more of a dark comedy than a horror, but for fnaf, not to that extent)

it shouldn't be that serious since comedy always part of the fnaf with scott having nightmares by bonnie, existense of balloon boy, being able bonk freddys noise in literally every single fnaf game. it would also make sense since everythings happens in a children pizzaria and animatronics that designed for children you can connect the humor into this place

@@bluescience9022 I agree. What I’m saying is that little bits of comedy like that is in an overall serious experience, which is how I expect the first movie to be. Later movies will definitely be more comedic which i welcome

After seeing the film, I got what I wanted. It was a bad horror movie, but there where moments that had actual tense moments, but it was FUN! It was so nice finally seeing my favorite horror franchise come to the big screen faithfully. I do not care how terrible the acting is. Or how bad the puppets where... I don't care. It felt like a schlocky horror B movie where- yeah.. the kills where goofy, and some had some good scares.

It is absolutely critical to the success of this franchise in order for this movie to maintain the same air of goofy silliness that security breach did. This movie is not only supposed to appease old fans by taking place and telling the story of five nights at Freddy’s one, but it should also appeal to the new era of fans who came here from security breach. Security breach has a specific type of humor that I think is absolutely critical to the success of this film, not to mention it literally takes place in an 80s pizzeria so of course it Hass to have that same silliness of the early 80s slasher films.

I loved the movie and how it turned out, people who complained about the lack of seriousness and intensity are kind of forgetting not only the fact the animatronics are, yknow, children, but also the series itself isn't shy of making jokes.

Honestly between the glowy eyes and little angry faces they make I feel like going comedic is the only option the movie has. There's no way to take the main group of animatronics seriously from what they've shown so far.

I think that the film should only do according to the basic rules of writing. What, why, how, where, and more questions like that. As long as the creators ask themselves those questions and build their plot around the answers and the effects that the characters have on the plot rather than the plot or anything else affecting the characters, all should be good. We wouldn't want a repeat of Scott Cawthon's mistakes now, would we? Of him just riding off his success without a real plan, just a really strong passion and intellect for his craft. And you can make great stories with those but you can't make an at least passably consistent story, only a story that is so all over the place it can create rifts in the fandom over what the "real" story is. No rule of cool or death by a thousand jokes unless that is what we're explicitly running (and even then, I hope that the jokes or the cool moments are consistently silver in weight at least, with some rare spikes of gold sprinkled throughout). Only a professional, passionate attitude with this movie will allow it to have a chance of meeting my expectations.

I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it. I'm 20 y/o, and even though I'm not old, and I've been a fan since 2014, I'm afraid there will be too much kids in the cinema. As an adult I'll feel weird being in the middle of a room full of kids. Also I'm afraid they will scream all the time and won't shut up. I don't know what to do.

As long as I get my "Die in a fire" re-enact followed by William getting killed in a fursuit while ghost childrens laughts in the background. Also, I think that theirs eyes are red, cause they are mad, but goldie's is blue, cause he's friendly. Does it kinda sucks that we get this instead of empty stares and pitch black eyes? Yeah, they where wanted for a reason. Is it bad that we don't get them? Sad but if the red blue eyes work, they work.

It is not clear about that first we need to know what first movie achive when it came out if it is succesfull enough then a second movie would be *considerable* probably after milking the first movie they decide to make another because its not easy with all those accuracy stuff in this first movie there is not much animatronics and that animatronics not much confusing looking they simple so its much easier to make them accurate but in later movies there are much more confusing and much more animatronics with multiple locations just imagine the how hard would be making ennard. more likely we wont gonna get a second movie for 2 to 3 years
