But the thought that says that "I'm better now", that's true, how do you not believe in it when it's true?

I realized that pushing away all thinking is not an option either, at least not for me. It led to dissociation and anxiety, without a crucial tool to continue everyday life. I guess I have a strong tendency to spiritual bypassing... The contradiction dissolved as I realized all thought is not evil, just a tool among others.

This is such a helpful format replying to comments and reminder of some of the videos I can revisit. I find myself kinda shocked and staring at the screen in a completely different way to consuming other content. Reality is really shocking to my mind. I’m finding myself quite disoriented. But it’s welcome because it feels like a movement I want. Scary but fresh and fascinating. With a kind of “what the F is going on” feel.

Regarding your comments beginning at around 5:00: after watching your video from about three weeks ago (What is the Experience of Impermanence), I’ve been experiencing phenomena disappearing, mainly people passing, birds flying, but more and more aspects daily. This generally happens once the image leaves the visual field (it never was and isn’t). I had experienced this a few times since summer, but after watching this video, it’s happening all the time now. The veneer is so subtle. Like the veneer that tricks you into thinking you’re moving a body or deciding what to say. So thin. Appearances coming from nowhere, being nowhere, going nowhere. Beautiful.

I still go into mind often through the day, maybe more than half of it, but I get restless there, but still go back due to habit. where I used to hear messages like this and they would bring existential fear and seem reality shifting now they seem so obvious and just like its putting me back here where I obviously was and seems so obvious and releasing and the mind increasingly feels like a drag

Hi Angelo @SimplyAlwaysAwake I recently emailed you this question and I'm wondering if you could make a video on it: "Why no belief is true" I've heard this said from a few enlightened teachers e.g., Adya and Jed McKenna, but "I" find this difficult to "believe" 😉 For example, here are three of my beliefs that to me seem irrefutable: 1. "2+2=4" 2. "I don't know everything about everything" 3. "Donald Trump either will or won't be the 47th US President" Can you please do a video explaining why "No belief is true" and give examples of why these specific beliefs (and every other belief) aren't true? I've been watching your videos every day and loving them btw. I think you're a great teacher and I've just ordered your book

It is nice to see how open minded you are about this, but I think it's important not to mistake a fact for a belief. You said your 3 affirmations are beliefs. When you say Trump will or will not be the next president, that's not a belief, there are no other options here. He will or he won't be. If he doesn't win, you'll say "Trump is not the new president" and that will be a fact, not a belief, right? I think 2+2=4 is a bit tricky. It is a fact, but it is also a concept we established to represent the reality in some way. But it doesn't feel like a belief, I mean unless you want to challenge the whole mathematical framework we use to relate to the world or venture into some philosophical statements like nothing is true, if I have 2 apples and you give me 2 apples, I won't have 5 apples 😂 Anyway, this could be a longer discussion than we can say in a comment section, but maybe others could add to my comment. 🙂

Oh and I forgot : I don't know everything about everything : that's clearly a fact! 😂

@@Buddhishgirl Academics and philosophers distinguish between "true beliefs" and "false beliefs", Adyashanti and Jed McKenna (and I'm sure many other enlightened teachers) claim that "no belief is true" which "I" don't "believe" so I gave examples of 3 things which I believe are true/facts. It is clearly possible to believe something that is a fact/true. If you dismiss every example of a true belief because it is a fact, then by definition every belief will be false, because every true belief you will call a fact

Sometimes I get the feeling that this doesn't have anything to do with non duality and everything to do with neurochemistry in my brain. This is all the inside of my brain and sometimes there is a tacit kind of perception of this. I am still in the middle of it though but then that's just part of this too. Is this related, or not at all what you are referring to Angelo? Best wishes, Tashi

Yes but when you become able to ignore thoughts, it doesn't matter anymore. Once you accept that there will always be thoughts and you stop striving for that day when you'll finally stop thinking (I know I did that 😅) it becomes much easier.
