The thing you're missing is that Miami has to force switches on offense to get their shots and that leaves them in bad mismatches on the defensive end since the Nuggets push the ball so much. Denver has offensive players who can score on anyone the Heat has, but the reverse isn't true. So Denver will have mismatches in their favor on every offensive possession (and even if everyone is on the correct man, they still have a +1 with Gordon who can't be guarded by anyone on Miami.

No coaching experience required. 😁 I am sure Miami's coach knows everything any of us knows (and far more), but the question is will it help? They have to force mismatches to score and if Denver pushes the ball then there's no way to fix the mismatches the other way. Simple cause & effect.
@SDesWriter Жыл бұрын
@@bballbreakdown Wish I could take credit for it. It was either JJ or Leggler that I saw point it out. Once you see it you can't unsee it. I honestly have no idea how the Heat try to counter it. If Denver just walked the ball up it wouldn't be a problem but the way Miami has to run their offense to score gives Denver an advantage the other way. Add that to having Joker and Gordon with big advantages if the offense stagnates and it looks like a short series.

The Heat do have someone to guard Gordon. If they put Love on Jokic, they can have Bam guard Gordon. I don't know if Love is hurt or out for the series tho. Love suffers form the same lack of mobility that Jokic does, but he has the strength to deal with him. Obviously, putting Love in P-n-R action isn't ideal, but when you've got Bam roaming the paint, off of Gordon, it plugs some of those holes. The only issue is that Jokic is a really good ball screener, so the Heat guards will have to put in a lot of effort to contest Murray off the P-n-R. Or they can just go under the screens, and plug up the paint. Making Denver a more one denominational team. And honestly, Denver isn't a very good defensive team. They have good athletes around Jokic, but Jokic is a weak defender and Murray doesn't have good off-ball awareness.

Here's something I think a lot of Heat fans are ignoring, because it's not visible in and of itself: The altitude. That's not going away, and unlike straight fatigue (which I think the Heat are dealing with after that weird seven game series with the Celtics) the fatigue plus the altitude is a killer. I've lived in Denver all my life, and I'm not in great shape, but I can outlast a lot of friends and family from out of state simply because they're not equipped to handle the air. The air here is also markedly dryer than the air in Miami, so it's not just altitude but dehydration you have to fight.

He’s been playing on a bum ankle since G1 vs Knicks when Josh Hart tried to flop and Jimmy landed on him after a shot. Reaggrevated in the Celtics series, but you’ll never hear him complain about it. He rather you think he sucks before you hear a single excuse out of him. If you’ve been following his career closely (doubt you have as a nuggets fan) you’ll know he’s never passive or take bad shots for the sake of it. He always gives it everything he has, even if it’s not enough. Win or lose, that enough for me.

@@socope17 so in one instance your saying he’s playing passive because of a bum ankle. And in the other instance your saying he’s not actually passive. So which is it. I’m inclined to believe the first one because he absolutely is playing passive. That would just give him a good reason to be.

I do agree heat missed alot of shots in game 1 but I dont think they will get that many open shots in-game 2. also heat is not the only team that shot bricks from 3s denver is worse on 3s in-game 1 which I dont think will happen again in-game 2.
@brkus2665 Жыл бұрын
I mean sure, Nuggets could shoot 29% for 3pt again and Heat could shoot 45% and Heat could win that 1 game, but that's pretty much it. I don't see this going past 5. I think biggest chance for Heat to win is 4th game of series. I expect 20 point blowout in game 2. Lakers were a better team and Nuggets swept them, regression gonna hit hard on this Heat, Nuggets may finish this season with longest winning streak of Jokic's carrier which would be hilarious. Getting a title on 10 game winning streak, his longest is I think 8 or 9.

As a Nuggets fan, the Heat are going to shoot better for sure. However, it wasn’t just bad luck that they missed so much. No one talks about how they are undrafted players and the stage could be too large for them. Also, they are getting worked on D so their legs probably don’t have the same jump as they normally do. We’ll see how they shoot in Game 2.
@luckerooni1153 Жыл бұрын
Those undrafted players have played more playoff games than most people on the Nuggets. It's their size not their lack of confidence in themselves that makes this hard for my Heat tbh.

@@somesosa903 Sorry, did you watch the game? What part of Jokic’s 27/14/10 made you think he shrank? Or Murray’s 26/10/6, AG starting 6/8, MPJ with 14/13 and 2 blocks? MPJ shot terribly and still made a huge impact.

@@luckerooni1153 We’re talking about the Finals. Wasn’t that the knock on the Nuggets? No Finals experience? And how does the Nuggets’ size make them miss wide open shots?
@sarumane5380 Жыл бұрын
@@hotgrease On defense the Heat have to constantly chase after the Nuggets due to how much they move on offense and when the Heat are attacking they have to get around much bigger players. Both of these and especially in tandem cost you much energy and will drain your legs.

paused before it started, the heat have hope because for starters Tyler is going to be coming back but thats not even the main reason. the main reason is because game 1 the nuggets won by only 11 points with 20 FT (made 16) vs the heat playing like trash (except for Bam he played great) and they only had 2 FT while being matched against a team of pure big men (CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGE) and missing a key player. if i was a denver fan id be fkn nervous because that game 1 W for Den was pa-fkn-thetic

the heat always win the hard way all throughout the season. Them having a 3-0 lead in the ECF is foreign to them. Winning a game 7 in Boston is the most Miami Heat thing to happen in the ECF. I bet if the Heat will win the Finals vs. the Nuggets, it would be a game 7 coming back from a 0-3 to be the 1st team in history to ever win from that defecit simply because that's what this Heat team is. The ultimate underdogs who has No quit mentality.

The heat struggle to score mostly because of fatigue and altitude. They were actually generating good looks and for denver defense thst doesn’t generate s whole lot of turnovers while the heat don’t turn it over themselves it’s kinds of s bad sign for denver

Yeah the lakers also said they figured something out and Hamm said “we’ll be fine trust me” we all know how that ended 😂😂😂. Nothing wrong with having a little hope I guess but its not happening. It’s a gentleman sweep at best
