All of the jems from this era are worth quite a bit. They’re really sought after
@joshuajouet Жыл бұрын
Since the PIA came out; prices of pretty much all Jems have gone a bit nuts. There’s a lot of dreamers out there asking £2k+ for the Indonesian models, totally crazy times 😂

Still play mine and love it. I wanted the VWH originally but got my hands on this in 2005 and so glad I got this.

Thanks for the vid. I've owned 2 of these, and sold them for some unknown reason. I'm close to getting another one. I saw Vai in Memphis in 2005 when he opened his show playing the double neck BRMR...too cool to even describe.

Fantastic guitar.

LO-PRO EDGE is, IMHO, the pinnacle of Ibanez Trems that I've played. The Original Edge is second, EDGE PRO third, EDGE III, EDGE II, Lo TRS-II (and I love my Lo TRS-II), in that order. Never played a ZERO or any others they have made. To me, though, each Trem has there +/- so ya just play to the strength of the trem. Like my Dad was prone to repeat, endlessly, "Ya get, what ya get."

Beautiful indeed. Thanks for the tour of your fab guitar. I'm a bit of a Jemaholic and fortunate to own a range of Japanese & Indonesian Jems. I don't own a BRMR but I do own the 7DBK & 77VBK models. I am a big fan of The Breed pups. Probably my current favourite of the Vai signature pups. Far less 'spikey' than the Evos.

Thank you for stopping by - yes agreed, the Breeds make for a very versatile sonic palette I think over and above the Evos.

Had the breed in a neck and a D activator x in Bridge. Loved it

I find it’s a bit easier to grab the string to do wide bends with the scalloping. The Jem I always wanted was a VSBL just because I loved the sparkle
@joshuajouet3 жыл бұрын
The VSBL was awesome - I had two 2002 Lo-Pro models back around 2004 but sold them. I’d love another one of these days.

Yes.. That was The original reason for The scallop. Seems that goes over the head for many people. 🌹

Jem prices seem to have gone crazy in last few years haven’t they? If I’d known how much these BRMR models go for now, I might have not played it so much and kept it minty 😂 - then again, it’s been such a joy to play.
@Rezparviz3 жыл бұрын
I have a mint one that I could have just sold for 3700 dollars however I think they will go much higher within the next few years
@joshuajouet3 жыл бұрын
The prices on these do seem to be just going up and up don’t they. I’m so attached to mine though I’m not sure I’d ever sell it. Thanks for watching and commentating Rez, much appreciated 🎸😎

Yeah, prices on pretty much all Jems have gone a little crazy. More so since the PIA effectively killed it. I’ve got three Jems but man I wish I could afford to buy more 😂

Not a real big Ibanez fan because I've had few Ibanez before and I had difficulties with them. I had difficulties with the saddles on the edge tremolo that they have on them I had difficulties with things like the edge tremolo system the saddles were a pain in the butt, rather have a Floyd Rose, but Ibanez are okay, I just wouldn't pay too much for one. I prefer Kramer, and Jackson guitars. Edge tremolo system is a far cry from a Floyd Rose not even close to the quality. And DiMarzio pick ups are a long way away from a Seymour Duncan, Seymour Duncan are the best pick ups you can buy right there neck and neck with EMG pickups

Has anyone heard of any durability issues with the finish cracking peeling or flaking off? I might trade a PRS Brushstroke 24 for one and I’m just worried about the finish.
@joshuajouet2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nevin, I have owned mine since around 2008/2009 and has been my main stage/performance guitar since 2015. I have heard of other owners experiencing issues with the mirror finish, but I have had no such issues and that’s with playing it a lot. It’s not an electroplated or similar finish like the original JS chromeboys which did have a ton of issues. As they are all now heading for 20 years old; I think if you find one in great condition; it’s unlikely the finish will suddenly start going nuts if it hasn’t already (if you see what I mean). My only tiny issue is the Edge Pro which I just don’t like as much as the Low Pro system that preceded it. It’s a minor gripe though. If you find one, and make a video; tag me - I always like to see these beautiful guitars!

There's no sustainer ,but it is beautiful.

As I recall from the time of release, there was a little collective disappointment that production versions didn’t have the sustainer or the LEDs that Vai’s own ones did
u don't play that guitar....there is not a scratch or fingerprint in sight and no corrosion on the chrome on the bridge. It looks like it hasn't seen lick one.
@joshuajouet3 жыл бұрын
It’s been licked a lot - lol I’ve taken good care of it, and there are pictures around of it looking proper grubby during various shows and rehearsals. It does buff up well and photograph well too. As for the bridge, I’m lucky that I guess my sweat isn’t too corrosive as I’ve never had that issue with any of my guitars.
