This is the problem with you Zambians. Kariba itself is located in Zimbabwe. If I ask you, do you have a town or place called Kariba on your side?
@tsnyatsnya123 Жыл бұрын
Congratulations!! I am not an engineer, but I am interested in some aspects. Kariba Dam is the largest man-made dam (185 km3 of water). It is almost five times bigger than the Chinese Three Gorges Dam (38 km3). However, the Three-Gorges Dam has an installed capacity of 22,500 MW compared to Kariba's 1,626 MW (with the Zambia side). Is the difference only in terms of number turbines, Kariba has 14 compared to 34 and their capacity? What is the maximum that can be harnessed from Kariba, if financial resources were available (a simple matchbox calculation says 110,000 MW)?

Thank you for some of the info that I did not know. Some people indeed sacrificed their lives for the enjoyment of others.

Kigali, Rwanda (0.56-0.58) as you introduce the video...why? So Kariba dam contributed to Kigali's rise?

Nice video. Another magnificent legacy of colonialism. Like the Victoria Waterfalls bridge. Btw, the Iguazu Waterfall is wider than the Victoria and has a much higher maximum flow rate. As for height, there are dozens if not hundreds that are higher. (I was a young boy when I visited the Kariba before it had even been filled for the first time and have visited Victoria several times.)

Extremely redundant. The aerial shot of the dam is shown at least 60 times in 13 minutes. So is everything else. Don't waste our time next time.
