why the Layoff keep coming in 2024?

i just checked out Alessandro content and i realise he spoke alot about the unspoken /awareness that artist have equip the knowledge in the industry. this analysis is really good as we also discussing with among each other in uk here...its true...well explain and really appreciate , sometime we talk about it so much i felt like repeating too much and i felt im anoying for example, fortunately i dont have to talk about it anymore, i can just show this video to my friend, easier!

This kind of feels like the game industry is starting to experience what's been happening in VFX for years... The vicious cycle of 'hire, crunch, discard'... It's scary to watch what's been happening in the past year and a bit, honestly, and I don't think we've seen the end of it yet. I don't know how I feel about the companies not taking much responsibility for over-hiring because of the corona boom - and while I understand companies are mainly here to make profit, you'd think they would have some plans in place to prevent this situation from being the case... Like you said in the video, there are games with a comparatively small budgets that have blown up very recently. With how accessible making games have become, achieving a higher graphics quality of the final product is no longer a viable selling point, if that makes sense, which I don't think a bunch of AAA studios have realised just yet... When playing, people always remember the story and how it made them feel and it feels like big studios kind of struggle with providing that experience to their player base right now. In a market where there's games of all kinds being published every day, having a game with a 150mil budget not do well, shows us that not enough people are interested in purchasing the title to justify that big of a budget. Thank you for an insightful video as always Alessandro. It's going to be a tough year for everyone involved, and I hope we all make it through to the other end.

I've been in this industry for more than 35 years now. Believe me when I say that you should think about a second job in case. Take this time to do a formation in something different than film or game. But stay open for animation if you are passionate about it.

This is a very reasonable take on it, some people often like to just trash the industry using buzz words like capitalism, oppression, predatory and such and such. While those things exists, I believe the bulk of the companies are just being pragmatic and reacting to the demands of the market.
