Great lecture. I’m curious as to how some would feel about the idea that “god’s” word was so easily amended over time.

Maccabees and the other books of Alexandrian Canon aren't in the Jew Canon because those books say things that bothered the Sadducees like resurrection and other themes, because the Sadducees was the elitè of Israel and they had chose the canon

17:43 Correction, Anthiocus IV! How ironic is this whole story, we accept legends (i.e. the so called miracle of the oil, which there is not historical record, no the author of the Maccabees, Josephus, Philo even the N.T mention this myth), made up by the rabbis but that which is historical they rejected. We rather live in fairy tail than in reality. What is wrong celebrating a military victory. Not everything have to be base in miracles and the super natural. If it wasn't for the church, we would not have these books, we ought them preserving these books. 28:01 Pompey takes over 63 BCE, you gotto check your dates and names. Also, the decisions of the rabbis was political, rather than theological to leave these books out, they hated the Hasmoneans, but we should we grateful and thankful that if it wasn't for them, Judaism would not have survived!!!!!!!!!!!! So, lets call things as they are and stop being political correct.
