Matrix had its day. I remember standing in line there during an early after-Loveparade, '99 I think.....and there was a guy standing next to the line with a huge NO tank handing out balloons to the people waiting in line, very nice of him, didn't even ask for money and made the wait quite fun for everybody. Had my first really good chai tea there too. Also some big names started out at Matrix, you would be surprised. Of course it's something totally different today though.

I was at the Matrix club last week with my friends. We didn’t even stay 20mins there. It’s neither fun nor special. We later got out of there and went to two authentic Berlin Techno clubs where we had so much fun and partied till 10 o’clock in the morning.

Matrix is a solid (mainstream-) underground kind of club - disco! not cool, but fun! (Cheap) TV soups like Berlin Tag&Nacht also like to use this club for shootings! Apart from that, Matrix has really also some more serious history from the 90ties on. DJs like Sven Vaeth, Paul van Dyk, Marusha, WestBam, DJ Dick, Underground Resistance, Josh Wink, Lords of the Underground, Lady B played there - and Matrix had always floats at the Loveparades. Its like with life. And lets not forget: one should not underestimate the location under the metro station. For most ppl in the world this feels undergroundish, especially assocated with being in Berlin! Thats mainstream cool! - and lets not forget, mainstream is more ppl than substream ;)

its actually not much in focus but Berlin has also a great variety of other music, genres and events. for instance the biggest Tango Argentino scene after Argentine/Buenos Aires. People like also do dance outdoor in summer. You have also all kind of rock, pop, jazz, swing, classic, hiphop, indie, ecstatic dancing etc. etc.
