I live in the USA. I have a large Indian touring bike I ride cross country 1-2 times each year. About 12,500 miles (20,000 km) per year. I also have a 2nd bike a Suzuki Tu250x that I use for in city riding a lot. Since they discontinued the tu250x I’ve been looking for a modern bike with vintage looks to replace it. I think this meteor 350 will be that bike. I’ve tried the interceptor 650 and felt it was a bit to powerful for my intentions of a city bike. All other bikes I’ve looked at are just small sport bikes and a RE dealership just opened up about 10 miles from me. I plan to reach out to them once the meteor comes to America. Edit: that tripper is what really sold me on it.

This is a neat little motorcycle...and considering some 20MPH electric bikes (e-bicycle) can cost upward of 7000 USD, the Meteor is a great value proposition as well. At 4500 USD, I see these as becoming very popular in North America with the possibility of a nice aftermarket and upgrade path.

I think this fits the role of a commuter bike, but you can definitely go on longer trips on smaller roads. It makes enough power and good mpg is perfect for carving up back roads on an A2 license. After a few years second hand bikes will be even cheaper so I think this will be quite a good little affordable learner bike, provided it is durable and nothing majorly bad happens to it.
@ShikiKaze4 жыл бұрын
First of all that tach with GPS assistant is a fucking amazing option/ I would buy that tach alone and wire it to a INT 650. The single 350cc should be great lugging around city or rural. Highway would be questionable long as the rider who rides it can break 75 mph. I have always liked the old Honda CB and other classic bike styling but always see them completely fucked up by previous owners. If this bike sells for $4.5k USD flat (standard) or $5.8k USD for the higher trim it would be good but it creeps up on their INT650 and Continental 650 that around $6-$7k. It's definitely not a good idea to compete with your own lineup while having to deal with other smaller retro classics like the Honda CB300r (Neo Cafe) or the Z400, KTM390, which is extremely popular among commuters. Yamaha had the TU250X which was an amazingly great commuter bike but had very little options and was thus cut short. New 2-wheel commuters want the whole package or bare minimum for as they're price conscientious depending on their budget. Gotta sell to the Millennials, because if you sell to the Boomers and at Boomer's price. Have fun with that. But back tracking to the power... I'm sure you can probably bore the engine out to 400cc or 430cc and get some decent power out of it. Slap on a controller and there you go. I know the CONT650/INT650 S&S has a kit for 750cc and 865cc.

Reliability and dealer networks is there problem here in the USA. Riders have found out that some there bikes are not the best for American Highways...Love the price point, love the looks.....but a bigger engine is needed...a bigger Himalayan (there 650 engine) would be a nice change.

in India Honda did launch a Royal Enfield competitor called "H'ness -CB350" which is basically CB350 remade from 70s but with single cylinder , google it!

@@random_cocaine4667 How much will the Honda H'ness cost in the US, and will its valves be adjusted by screw-and-jamnut (easy/cheap) or by shims (hard/expensive)?
