I have 3 Royal Enfields myself and my brother has just bought himself the red Meteor. He had a serious accident about 4 years ago and this is the perfect bike for him to return to the saddle. It is low, feels light, not too powerful and the throttle is not in any way snatchy, Perfect for Steve's return to biking or any beginner. I have been riding for 40 years and Steve for closer to 50 but i enjoy riding it as much as he does. Seems to me Royal Enfield cant put a foot wrong so far. Between us we have owned Triumphs Harleys a Norton Ducati and all the usual Japanese makes but Royal Enfield's have a charm all their own. Great Review as usual by the way.

This is by far and away the most beautiful looking bike Royal Enfield have ever produced and it looks stunning in that dark red. On typical UK roads you don't need a bigger engine than this. Many mature bikers are walking away from hyper bikes. Changing to everyday rideable bikes without electrickery and the need to dress like a power ranger. This bike is a bargain for a go to work, tootle round bike. Some of my best biking memories were hooning around on 250s. Its pricing is amazing it makes electric bike manufacturers look like extortionists. Well done RE and as always great review aimed at the audience that are interested in this type of motorcycling. This is just another home run from Royal Enfield! I have been to my local dealer to sit on the bike. Firstly, they are just beautiful, and they do not come across as a small bike when you are standing next to it. Handling the bike, it feels very solid! Definitely not a toy bike. I love the Interceptor 650, but I am 56 years old, and have not ridden in over 25 years. I just don't know that I need that much bike. My heart is torn. I also like to explore dirt roads. Mostly groomed, or gravel forest service roads. I really love the feel of the back tire drifting back and forth in the gravel. I think the 650 may be better suited for that. Sigh. I think I am going to just have to wait for the moment, and buy according to my gut feeling at the time. But then again...they may have a Himalayan style two cylinder bike out by then. Hmmm. Another monkey wrench in the works.

non adjustable forks can be adjusted. first the oil. softest is using auto transmission fluid, its intended use is far more demanding than suspension. it has excellent extreme pressure lubricity, good corrosion inhibitors by using double the amount the air volume in the fork leg decreases and acts as a progressive spring. on normal bump no change but on a big hit or landing from big air the forks will never bottom out, the high pressure air inside prevents it

Great review. I stand and smile next to my Meteor when I'm not on it. Its the smoothest single cylinder machine I've ever ridden. Riding it is a pleasure, literally makes the process itself a wonderful way to spend your time. It's got just enough power and it feels like a much bigger bike. At country lane speeds it's not a slouch. It gets to the point firmly and with plenty of confident torque. Standard seat seems fine, but I probably up for a touring seat just for the stitching. Hello Mark. Nice review. I have had my Stellar blue for about one month and I have had some jaw jarring, spine jamming moments over bumpy road spots that really pointed out a deficiency in the rear shocks. Mine are set at the least spring resistance too. I would also like to know your impression of that "touring seat" that RE offers as an option. You made no mention of seat comfort. I have done 4 hours on the stock seat, with one 20 minute donut stop and find it fairly decent for a stock seat, with very little moving around needed to alter pressure points. Does the touring seat offer better lower back support with its raised ring around the back? Thanks.
@markpulling123 жыл бұрын
Sorry about no seat mention ...I usually do :)....anyway yes it gives great support to the lower back and thinking about it ....if I didn't notice it much during the ride then yes it's very comfortable :) Best regards mark

LOOKS GREAT, and has to be a bargain at that price and for that finish. Personally I would go for the 500 for a bit more touring capability but if Santa put one of these in my stocking I wouldn't be disappointed.

Not sure if this has come up but the supernova in this video isn’t standard. You have the bar end mirrors and touring seat which are both optional extras. Standard comes with usual chrome mirrors and a dark brown seat. I think this seat and mirrors up the price a bit, but not 100% on that.

I have had a several motobikes and decided to end but after 5 years I bought Meteor 350 to commuting to work and for driving pleasure. it exceeded my expectations. I am 58 years old and could anyone image me on faster motobike designed for young people ? Oh noo.

Hopefully going to test ride one of these soon. Could be a really great commuter.

Great review as usual Mark. Twenty BHP out of a 350 cc engine is a little low. No doubt someone will come out with a compression kit for it. Piston and other mods.Thank you.

Thanks Colin yes it bimbles along nicely at 60/70 mph but a little bit more power would be nice Cheers mark

It is capable of doing more, but there is a general consensus that there is an electronic limit on the meteor
@jamespardy69212 жыл бұрын
I dont know where you find the time to keep replying but i appreciate it. I am test riding the meteor this week as its a bit shorter than the classic but i prefer the classics colours. Its a cruisers i want. Also on the list is the Benelli 502c, and the kawasaki vulcan. The honda rebel is too cramped on the footpegs. I am also waiting to see the new super meteor. I once had a Honda 750 shadow but was gutless so ended up with the vtx1300. Beautiful until it fell on me. So i am wondering if the meteor would be powerful enough to overtake on the back roads. I'll keep following you reports. Jim Pardy
@markpulling122 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim ...the meteor is low power 20 HP ...it will do low speed overtakes...but not much above 60 mph ...it's built for low ish speed cruising cheers mark

I am looking forward to buy one of the RE meteor model, but I heard RE is launching Super Meteor with 650CC engine this winter. Now, not sure should I go for this of wait for Super Meteor, there's one more giving tough competition to RE is 'Yezdi Roadster'. Am totally confused.
@242garyp6 ай бұрын
Hi Mark if you could buy the RE Meteor or Classic which would you choose...I want one or the other but just can't decide? Thanks for your great reviews.
@markpulling126 ай бұрын
Hi Gary personally I'd go for the classic...as I slightly prefer the looks ...but the meteor is more comfortable being a cruiser Cheers mark

Good review, thank you sir. Love the bike, i compare it with the Hyosung Aquila 300 and the Benelli imperial 400. If Honda does take the H'ness (cb350) to Europe as the planned then it get a difficult choice but for now this Royal Enfield is the winner for me. I wil buy next year after winter time. Thank you again for this review, it help me a lot. Greetings from Belgium.

I enjoyed your video. But I reckon it must be very troublesome to wear a full suit to ride. Could you do a review on the keeway Benda BD300? It has a lot more power than this with only 300cc.

A 1950s BSA 350 had 30 horse power. How can this make so much less? I'm sure 20hp will appeal to some who want to plod along, but a bike that's slower than a car seems pointless to me. 30hp would make it a bit more interesting as a fun 2nd or 3rd bike.

@jamesdarnell85683 жыл бұрын
A 1950s BSA 350 had 30 horsepower but it spewed out a lot more pollution than the Meteor 350. Today's water-cooled Japanese bikes approximate the power of their 1960s counterparts as they can meet emissions requirements by burning lean (due to the water cooling). They make the horsepower through high revs. Conversely, the Royal Enfields and Triumph Bonnevilles are understressed and don't make as much power as their displacement infers they should.

Hopefully a version of this without the forward pegs will be released in the UK. It would be even better if it also had classic styling with deeply valanced mudguards. It would be an excellent replacement for the Bullet 350. As I have mentioned elsewhere, it would be great if RE had a network of authorised service agents for those of us who live 250 miles from our nearest dealership.

There's a new shop opening in Brockenhurst next month. It's in an old Bank building that was robbed back in 1968. There's a great fish & chip shop next door too. 250 miles each way ? Sounds like you need to plan it as a weekend away with the girl friend or wife.
