I always thought the reason people didn't like R33s as much had more to do with the styling. I don't dislike the R33's styling, but comparatively to the R32 and R34 it's more soft and bubbly. The R32 is my personal favorite because it has a good balance of soft and hard edges, whereas the R34 has more defined hard edges. I think it's good having that variety throughout the years, though, as it gives people options depending on their preferences. Same thing could be said about the S-Chassis and preferences, but that goes further because of the different front ends on the generations.

Hi Matt, Reason why the R33 feels light and very direct compared to the r32 is because R33 is actually not the heaviest of the 3 Skyline GTRs. R34 was the heaviest. The R33 was also a ground up new car from Chassis and Aero design perspective (it's not just a wider longer shell on r32 chassis). Probably why the r33 was not considered by many prospective buyers to day, but now that budgets are forcing prospective buyers to look at R33s, the facts get highlighted and R33 is seen for what it was, i.e. an aerodynamic, agile beast which broke records and left competition in the dust.

It’s a pure, mechanical masterpiece with dominant Motorsport pedigree. The road presence they have is also amazing. It’s unfortunate that Nissan bumped up a rung into supercar territory with the R35. I think they hit the sweet spot in the 90’s with pure analogue drivers cars and the R35 is a step in the other direction. Sure they’re super fast with their split second automatic transmissions an incredible 4wd and stability systems but is that what driving enjoyment is about? Instant shifts and 0-100 times? Not for me. I think Nissan know this too and hopefully the new Z is their step back to bringing the (more) analogue driver feel.

I know Skylines are very new to the USA. But you HAVE to modify them. Stock they are far from that impressive, especially compared to modern day sports cars.

I owned a 400bhp R33gtr - wasn't mental or bonkers but very capable and a goddamn epic daily to drive... back when petrol was under a £1 a litre 😕 btw the 33GTR can be turned into an EPIC fast road and track car - equally as much as the others... tons of aftermarket goodies for them - weight can be stripped out. A 6 speed from a 34 gtr drops straight in pretty much and that alone makes it feel like it has gained 100 ft/lbs of torque. Turbo swaps are common... the crank is longnose so isn't prone to crapping itself etc... these things are epic the one thing i would say is at 3-400bhp you do get fairly bored of these. If you can get a 2 boost setup to go from 400 on low and 500 on high then THAT is alot of fun - especially if you stick a decent set of brakes on (btw the stock Brembos suck.. stick some D2 on there or Alcon or Wilwoods or 35gtr if they will fit). btw i've owned 4 skylines over about 15-20 years.. and i'm considering a 5th lol... i should really give something else a try but i keep running back to them hehehe!

By far the most underrated Skyline. Looks so good, I don't get why people don't like it.

The reason people don't like it is simply because it did not fill the shoes of the BNR32 and have any where near the success in motorsports. That is legitimately the only reason. The car as a whole is vastly superior to the BNR32 in every way shape and form being a successor but when you go into something with high expectations not taking into consideration the changes around you whether is in motorsports or even the improving competition that the successor once competed with that creates a misconstrued point of view of the car. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a BCNR33.

Its interesting that you thought the fourtunes ride stiff and are a little bouncy, my GTST currently has the same setup suspension wise and thats exactly my thoughts on them.

Angeles crest is closed at the 4 way intersection where you can make a right to mount wilson observatory, you can take a left there to go towards palmdale to continue and its really nice, if you turn onto big Tujunga eventually though the road condition is terrible, lots of cracks and holes on that road.

Damn Rut. I'm not normally a fan of Japan's cars, but that's clean. I'd hate to own it though since parts are rare and expensive. As an aside, the cars in that first neighborhood were sweet. There was some sort of lifted orange pickup on the left that looked awesome, despite being a little best up. It was at 4:09. Maybe an old International Harvester or Jeep Comanche? Not sure tbh. My 80s truck knowledge isn't great.

Parts aren't that bad actually, they've had a really strong cult following around the world for decades and share heaps of parts with the more common R33 GTST. So there's heaps of commodity and aftermarket parts still being manufactured and sold. It's part of Nissan's heritage range too, so you can buy brand spanking new parts for it direct from Nissan if you're going that route. I bought a Nissan Genuine front windshield cowling and seal kit for $200AUD the other day, no problem.

If you like the R33 GTR as a usable daily car. Wait until you discover a Stagea 260rs. The car you can take the kids / family around in and still enjoy an Rb26.
